THE SOUND of loud sirens blared through my ears. My face crinkled in pain and my eyes shot wide open.

A nurse was gently wiping my face with a damp cloth and noticed I woke up.

"You're in an ambulance, hun. Relax, we're almost there, alright?"

"W-where's Ponyboy and Dallas?" I gasped, "Is Johnny alright?!"

"Hun, please calm down. Your friends are behind us. You'll see them once you're in a better condition." She said in a firm tone.

I slowly nodded and closed my eyes again.

I felt myself getting lifted off and put on a stretcher. Sounds of muffled voices rang through my head before I realized I was just being sent to the hospital. I was too tired to fight back and let sleep get to me once again.

"Will she be alright?" A frantic voice asked.

"Yes, she'll be fine - just a sprained foot with burns here and there, but she'll heal in a matter of time."

I opened my eyes, and quickly closed them due to the brightness. I slowly opened them again, letting my eyes adjust to the light.

I looked around and I was laying on a hospital bed, with bandages all over my body, and a teary-eyed Two-bit by my side.

I weakly poked his arm, but he was too distracted from all of the crying he'd been doing.

"T-Two-bit, stop cryin', you doofus."

He looked up and attacked me in a hug.

"Nina! You're alright! I was so worried about you, I-I thought I did something wrong again."

My heart sank at his words. And I hugged him back, being careful to not make any wrong moves to further damage my injuries.

He pulled back and held my hand. "What the hell happened? Where were you all this time?" I was being bombarded with questions and I then knew how Dallas felt when he saw us just... this morning.

"Can we tall about this later? My head hurts and I'm starving."

He muttered a sorry and said he'll get me something to eat by the cafeteria downstairs. As he left, there was a knock on the door. Steve and the Curtis brothers were standing there.
