please keep chasing me,
your southern constellations got me so dizzy.
it's cold but you pretend that you are warm with me.
before i get you home you're nearly frozen,
but i'll never let you freeze without me.

Nico closed the door softly behind us, then promptly closed the blinds. He stared outside before the shutters fell, and lingered just a second longer when turning back to face me.

"You shouldn't have done that," Nico said softly, pacing back and forth in front of the door. His hands flew into his hair in stress.

I leaned back against the post of my bunk, crossing my arms. "It's not my fault Adrian's an oversensitive, overcritical bastard. He flew to conclusions faster than Hermes stole Apollo's prized cattle."

Nico rolled his eyes, stopping. "I thought he made you happy," he said. "I thought that he could somehow save you --"

"Well I don't need saving," I interrupted, standing straight. "I'm fine by myself, and I'm not gonna dwell on some dude."

Nico's eyes flashed with a look of determination, and that's when I knew something was up.

"Why do you care?" I asked. "It's not like --"

"Because you're my sister!" Nico exclaimed, throwing his hands into the air. He looked at me wildly. "Ever since Percy died, you've been quiet and, well, not yourself. You've been depressed, Y/N --"

"I'm not depressed --"

"-- and Adrian changed that!"

Nico breathed heavily as he said this, trying to get point across. It was now that I understood what all of this meant.

"I want you to be happy," he clarified. "You remind me of my sister Bianca in a way. It's just, you deserve another chance to love."

Oh, Percy, where are you now?

Where are you when I need you?

Oh Percy, I miss you.

We stood facing each other for strained moments, just staring at each other. I understood -- yes, I knew what Nico meant. I knew that all he wished for was my happiness.

But Adrian didn't make me happy. Not now, at least.

Nico spoke slowly this time. "Adrian fell for you the second he met you," he said. "I know this was meant to be -- I just know it. I mean, children of the Underworld do have a thing with the children of Apollo, right?"

I leaned back against the post. I wished for another serene moment with Adrian. Would he let me have one? Just one more would let us sort out the problems between us. Another smoke would be helpful. I wasn't really a smoker, but Adrian changed that. So maybe it wasn't for the overall best, but it was a decent coping method.

"Please don't interfere with our relationship," I pleaded to Nico, who just crossed his arms. "I want it to be natural, okay?"

Nico nodded and looked back at the window. I got up from my spot against the bunk and hugged his from behind.

"I love you," he murmured, grazing my hand with his.

"I love you too," I replied, closing my eyes on Nico's bony shoulder.
