Adrian
Joining the Hades table during dinner was now undeviating. Mystery Girl and I sat next to each other as always. The endless cycle of joking about food preferences and telling an embarrassing or funny story from the past (which we called Confession Corner) never got redundant, and I loved the way Nico just fit in without feeling like the third wheel. Mystery Girl and I's relationship was still unspecified, and details during dinner were kept to a minimum, but we'd be able to talk as freely as we wanted afterwards on the Hades cabin roof.
I always looked forwards to the moments Mystery Girl and I kept secret, whether it was just sitting in silence, stargazing, or nonchalant conversations. There was no barrier between us then, and everything was at ease.
It was tonight that I realized I let go of my entire past. My step-dad melted away as easily as my dream of being a baker (that was the only perk of having him at home -- he taught me what jobs would make you successful and unsuccessful in life). Along with that went those verbal and physical beatings from both parents, the sorrow of losing Adrianna, and finally the death of Mara.
Letting go was worth everything, though. I was a demigod, for Christ's sake. I was the son of the fucking sun!
But most of all, I had Mystery Girl. And as long as I kept chasing after her real name, I could live in both peace and distress. It was a yin-yang sort of thing. And yet I still love her. Yeah, I love her.
I love Mystery Girl, the biggest mystery of them all. I love someone despite losing the only girl I used to care about.

As I left the Hades cabin, I ran into Nico. I guess both of us were in the same situation, where I was staying with Mystery Girl and he was staying with Will.
Although I thought he just stopped to say 'hi', Nico began talking like a drunk.
"Don't fuck with my sister," he warned, mumbling. He raised a limp finger to point at me. "Don't -- don't you dare fuck with her...."
I frowned, grabbing Nico's finger and pushing it down to his sides. "I wasn't planning on it," I replied, stepping away.
Nico just glared. "Oh, of course you don't plan," he said. "But I know someone who does -- someone inside this very cabin...."
I opened the door. Mystery Girl didn't know that Nico and I were having this conversation. It was probably better if she assumed Nico was unable to actually get into the cabin, therefore I opened the door, rather than what actually happened.
I gave Nico a little nudge and winked at Mystery Girl. She sat on her bed, rolling her eyes and making that 'coo-koo' motion by her ears.
Man, Mystery Girl is amazing.
But even as I hurried to my own cabin, I couldn't help but wonder what Nico was saying and if it was true or not.
Was Mystery Girl planning something? And if so, what?
