*KNOCK KNOCK*

The loud knocking outside your door woke you up from your heavy drunken sleep. You were laying on your side on your couch. Your arm felt incredibly numb from laying on it. A grunt escaped your lips as you sat up slowly and massaged your aching hand. Everything was silent. What time was it? All you remembered was you outside cursing at the floor you lived in. Your keys were on the coffee table in front of you. How did you get here? No idea, but you didnt question it.

You sat there for a few seconds, gaining enough energy to answer the door.

*KNOCK KNOCK*

"OKAYYY," you interrupted the knock as you sighed in frustration and rubbed your eyes as you yawned. The eyeliner on your eyes smudged, making you look that much more exhausted. The floor felt warm, but you remember leaving the heater off before you left. You took you coat off and set it on the coat hanger by your door before opening up. "Who is it?" you asked lamely.

"The landlord," you heard him say. You immediately regretted the tone of voice and immediately opened the door. "Oh hi. How can I help you?" You asked with a much kinder tone. He looked at you strangely, "You've had the heater on for over ten hours and I just wanted to make sure if you were fine. I know the rent comes with bills, but I couldnt help but worry since the building is insulated well so it shouldn't be that cold," he said.

"Ten hours?!" You thought and immediately gasped at his words.

"You were drunk," he said, smelling you from far away. Your ears became red and you cleared your throat, "I just drank a little bit," but he watched you with a glare that knew well you were lying.

"Whatever helps you sleep," he said with a slight joking tone, "Take care. Good night again," he said, helping you realize it was 8 pm again. You nodded and slowly closed the door as he left before going and turning the heater off. There was a light moment where you paused to think and hopefully remember if you really forgot to turn off the heater when you left.

"No I didnt leave the heater on because its already 8 pm which means it wouldve been on for like twenty hours if I included my shift time and the time before that," you thought. You stared at the wall in front of you confused as to how things happened. You shrugged it off and went to take a shower.

Your apartment felt too quiet as you sat in the kitchen with a cup of warm tea. The heavy clouds had become fog outside, darkening your house even more. You wondered how your....ex... was doing, but then you remembered how fucked up he was to you and you weren't gonna get sad over that. You only felt like crying because you knew you didnt deserve this. You tried hard not to cry but your lip quivered as you pressed them together.

"ARGHHH FUCK YOU!!" you said loudly as you threw your head back and rubbed your teary eyes. You began whimpering through the apartments silence. No one heard you, no one cared. You bent forward to rest your head on the table as you cried loudly and shamelessly. "You're a piece of shit. I should be happy that Im not with you anymore," you said to yourself as if he was here to hear you. If only he did hear you.

You groaned at yourself, hating how you couldnt stop yourself from feeling these emotions. Through your saddened noises, you heard a muffled laugh and weird noises from your next door neighbor. "FUCKing piece of shit," you said loudly but gradually toned it down. They weren't doing anything wrong. It was you who was overly sensitive. You went to your room and sat on your bed to avoid anything else, but the neighbor only became more loud by playing music and singing loudly with whoever his guest was.
