"Wait! You seriously sent that?!" Sean eyes widened, shock written in them.
"Yes. Yes I did." I said with a hint of cockiness, feeling pretty satisfied with myself that I managed to press send.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I need to settle the details of my first date with Leo." I replied as calmly and confident as I could, leaving Sean with his mouth still agape and a very pale face.
I headed straight to my room and quickly shut the door. I plopped myself down on the bed, still calm and collected, before a flood of messages and the vibrations that came right after shook my phone violently, snapping me out of my calm demeanour.
"Oh fuck fuck fuck! Shit! What am I gonna do?" I stared frantically at my phone.
Leo was eager to reply, saying yes pretty excitedly and I would've usually felt flattered if it weren't for the fact that I would be going on my first date soon. With a guy I barely know. And I spammed probably at least 10 heart emojis.
Damn you Sean Henderson.Unexpectedly, my screen flashed with Leo's contact.
Shit. He's calling.I hesitated. Should I just apologise and said that it was a typo?
Stupid excuse
Besides, Sean did'nt seem to mind that you're going on a date. We shall very well go on that date then!
Ohhh... good argument there...
Now I'm just talking to myself...
"Okay. Woman up Liz!" I said to myself as I forced myself to answer the call.
"Hello?" My tone slightly hesitant.
"Hey! So... This Friday, evening? " I heard his deep voice over the phone.
"Uhh... yeah I can make it.""At that new restaurant near school? I heard they serve good pasta!" He sounded so eager.
I rubbed my face in frustration. As sweet as Leo is, its gonna be hella awkward.
"Sounds great! so Friday night, 6pm at that new place."
"Can't wait! See you!"
"Same here. See you then."I ended the call and offed my phone, slipping it into my pocket as I opened the door of my room, deciding to head downstairs to help my grandma.
"What the fuck?" I jumped a little as I was met with none other than Sean Henderson crouching down at my door. He was pressing his face on my door.
He scrambled back, face turning bright red.
Was he... eavesdropping?
"What are you doing?" I crossed my arm as I looked down at him, now sitting awkwardly on the floor.
"Uhh... picking up something?"
"You're a horrible liar. Were you eavesdropping?"
"Pfft! No?!" He was quick to deny before standing up hurriedly and walking downstairs.
I rolled my eyes.
weirdo.I followed him downstairs and entered the kitchen.
" Lizzy!" I groaned at that embarrassing nickname.
"Grandma..."
She chuckled.
"Help me wipe those tables. People nowadays eat like hooligans." She tossed me a cloth.
"Oh and Sean! Those tables need waiting! Chop chop!" Sean was on it immediately. Well, he was undeniably reliable...
I got to work immediately.
Ew. Crusts are everywhere.
Don't people have table manners anymore?
I wiped table after table, walking back and forth in the pizzeria.
My mind slightly drifted to the upcoming date with Leo.
Gosh. I better be mentally prepared.
As I was walking from one table to another, I saw Sean step infront of me, blocking my way.I glared at him before moving to the other side but he moved, once again blocking me.
"What?" I snapped, getting annoyed but slightly happy that he was taking my mind off the date.
"You free this Friday?"
Before I could reply, he continued talking.
"Doesn't matter. I already bought tickets."
"Tickets where?" I asked, feigning curiosity.
"Actually, it doesn't matter. I've got a date. With Leo. Now, if you'll step aside..."
"Too bad! You can't. I bought tickets to the carnival thats coming to town." He argued, still blocking my way.
"Too bad for you! I've got a date. Give it to... to Stacey! Stacey's fun!" A twinge of jealousy hit me but I ignored it.
"Stacey's not yo- uhh... I mean, I asked already. She's busy." He stammered a little.
Oh... so, I'm not the first choice then I guess.
Hurt washed over me but I was sure not to show it.
"Well, I'm busy too." And with that, I walked away. The next day...
Goddammit. Sean is relentless. Stubborn, annoying asshat.
" please! It'll be fun! I'll pay for all your food and your games!"
"Dudeeee, I have a date with Leo! I said that already! There are so many girls and probably guys dying to go out with you to this carnival. Ask them!"
No don't ask them.
My inner voice argued.
Shut up Liz.
He huffed and crossed his arm in frustration like a child who did'nt get his favourite toy.
"How about, we race to school?"
"And...?"
" and if you lose, you go out with me on Friday!"
"That isn't fair. You're freaking in sports!" He grinned before speeding down the route towards school.
"No! Wait! Sean!" I yelled as I chased after him, determined not to lose.Sorry for the short chapter and such infrequent updates :(( I have mid years and there's so much to do but it's ending! And once it ends, I can update more yay!
