Pearson's POV

‘Sir, do you know where I will be sleeping?’ I ask one of the higher ranks who stood at a corner of where the rooms were I'm guessing.

‘Ah, new guy huh?’ he says amusedly as if he knew something.

Uh…

‘Yeah,’ I say shifting my weight to my other leg and waiting for my room number.

Instead he looks at someone behind me who obviously walks past, ‘Winston,’ he calls his voice holding authority. A second later I find myself standing beside Duke a guy I sat with at dinner.

He looks at me beside him and smiles before asking what the Lieutenant wanted.

‘Please take him to room 35, I believe that’s what this says,’ he says looking down at a paper in his hands and looking at it like it was somewhat wrong.

‘Good job boy,’ he says winking at me then going off to another group of guys.

From the corner of my eye I see Duke clench his fists before nodding, ‘yes Sir.’

The walk was a little quiet and awkward and I couldn’t help but feel like I did or said something wrong, we turned corner after corner and I could feel my body becoming heavy and tired.

‘Look uh, Pearson right?’ I nod. ‘You touch her and I swear on everything I’ll break all your bones and shove a bomb up your backside. Got it?’ he threatens.

My jaw tenses not taking threats well but I couldn’t help but feel curious, ‘who?’ I ask turning probably the 15th corner inside the building and stopping in front of one of the doors.

He gives me a look before opening the door to reveal a lounge to the left, a small kitchen to the right and small narrow hall in front of us where there were three other doors. Number 35 right in front of us. What are the other two?

He swings open the door in the middle and turns on the light as if knowing whoever was in there was gone and to my surprise they were. I find myself staring at a bed with camo coloured sheets and blankets, a desk down the foot of the bed with papers scattered and pictures covering the side as well as a chair to sit in, another bed with just plain white covers on the opposite side of the room with the same desk, just empty. In fact you probably wouldn’t even know a girl lived here if it wasn’t for the bra hanging on the chair.

‘Hey, uh thank...’ I trail off when I turn around to be faced with a shut door and no one else but me in the room.

Well this shall be fun. I thought to myself before walking over to the other side and dropping my big bag onto my bed. I strip off into just my boxers and take the stuff out of my bag before shoving it into a draw that was beside a door, bathroom I'm guessing?

Whoever does sleep here I wonder where she was, showering? Doing rounds? Sleeping with another guy? ... Highly unlikely in this base.

Who is she? I walk to her side of the room before looking at the photos stuck on the side of her desk.

There were lots of a small girl and a guy who were smiling happily at the camera, the brother – I'm guessing? – in a camo army uniform and I could see they were on a base.

How could such a young girl get on a base like that? I looked at the guy who looked around my age more carefully and my eyes nearly popped out of its sockets.

Coldwell! I knew this man, he was one of the most important, and most respected man in America. His death was harsh on a lot of people but I never knew he had a sister. Wait Coldwell… General Coldwell… hey I talked to his dad today! It couldn’t be, could it?

My eyes travelled lower but before I could see any more photos of the small girl the door squeaks open and before I could turn around I hear a high pitched yell and I knew straight away who it was.

‘What the hell are you doing in my room!? Get out!’ she fumes advancing on me the second I turned around.

Little miss Adriana. So my roomy huh? Luck loves me today.

From the death glare she was giving me and the long angry strides I knew if I didn't get out or explain she'd definitely rip my head off so I put my hands up as if to calm her down before stepping back and away for every step she took forward.

‘Roommate?’ I explain looking at the bed on the other side.

‘Says who?’ she growls. Whoa she's pretty damn hot when she's angry.

‘Says Lieutenant Johnson and Duke,’ I say with a smirk.

She stops and realization skims across her face when she looks at the bed on the other side, before she grits her teeth and stalks back out and into another room without even knocking, me following on her heals amusedly.

'Duke!' she yells standing in the middle of the room after turning the light on and succeeding in waking two of the guys up.

'Ade! We're sleeping!' Duke grumbles throwing the pillow over his head.

'Duke, explain to me why the hell I have a half-naked cocky ass guy standing in my room?' she asks as calmly as she could, Chris on the other side groans and pokes his head up from the pillow to look at her.

'Ad calm down, please, I need sleep after you kicked my arse for the third time today.'

She smirks at that and I couldn't help the small smile that made its way onto my lips.

'Duuuukee,' she whines instead picking the closest thing up – which happens to be shoe – and throwing it aimless at him succeeding in hitting him on the head.

'Far out Ad, Johnson said it was on the list. He's sleeping with you and you have no say until the morning, got it?' he snaps annoyed as he turns to open an eye to look at her scowling.

As I guessed she didn't like the tone he used and immediately advanced on him, obviously knowing her well he jumps up and dodges her hold before getting up and standing in the middle of the room with his hands up like I had done.

A chuckle rips through the quietness from Chris, clearly unsurprised at her reaction before shaking his head into the pillow and looking like he was already asleep seeing it was now dukes problem and not his.

'Ade, please, we can work it out in the morning okay? And I'm sorry I snapped at you, but please let me sleep.'

I watch as Ade pouts still not wanting to give in and having to sleep near me before finally huffing, 'fine. But I'm sleeping with you. I don't want to be anywhere near that guy,' she says shooting me a look which only made me smirk before following her into our room.

'Y'know, you're stuck with me for a long while whether you like it or not,' I comment as I leant against the doorframe watching as she grabs her pillow and blanket, bending over in the process and showing me a perfect view of her backside.

I avert my eyes feeling something burn inside me before catching her glaring at me, 'I don't care, I'd rather die than sleep near you.'

Ouch.

'Drag me to hell with you then hunny, I ain't going anywhere,' I tease but my voice was also half serious.

My forever new mission in life – annoy the living crap out of her.

She scowls at me before shoving past and shutting the guys’ rooms’ door behind her.

Me laughing in the process.

Totally hot roommate – check.

Definitely does not fight like a girl – check… unfortunately.

Getting the room to myself for the night – check.
