‘Do you want to meet your brother yet?’ Romeo was asking as we sat around the lounge room after training, though this time, another guy held it.
‘No,’ I reply quickly. And to be honest; I didn’t, I wasn’t ready to stomach that all those years of grieving was for nothing, that he betrayed everyone at base as well as me. He could have sent me a note or something to let me know. Anything? Now I'm stuck in the middle unsure to whether I should be happy that he’s a live or hate him that he lied and was never there like he promised he would be on the last night that he tucked me in.
‘Come on Adriana, he really wants to see you,’ Romeo pushes.
‘Romeo, I said no. I don't want to see him; I'm not ready,’ I say seriously sitting up straight to look at him.
‘Alright, alright, no need to get your knickers in a knot,’ he says with his hands up as if in surrender.
I stare at him and a second later we were in a fit of laughter my stomach was actually in pain, ‘oh my goodness, who even says that these days?’ I ask in between laughter and wiping tears.
He makes a face at me before feigning hurt, ‘me obviously!’ he exclaims chucking the pillow at me. Before it hits my face I catch it just in time with a half-laugh/half-scoff.
‘I’ll get you for that,’ I say.
He chuckles and cocks up a brow from where he was sitting, ‘oh yeah?’ he asks before throwing another pillow at me.
I narrow my eyes at him before throwing the pillow back at his face, the second he catches it I get up quickly and jump on him, my legs cradling his hips as I pushed him against the backrest of the chair properly, ‘hah,’ I smirk as he throws the pillow away.
‘Alright, you got me,’ he says putting his hand up in surrender with that smirk of his. ‘Now what are you going to do?’ he asks curiously as he puts his hands back down only to land on my legs.
I smirk, ‘now… I’ll,’ what? Kiss him? Punch him? Get off!
He cocks up a brow amused, ‘you’ll what?’ he asks sitting up properly and shifting me a little closer.
I blush and bite my lip still thinking, ‘I’ll do this,’ I whisper before blowing at his face making him flinch back and close his eyes before jumping of, grabbing the closest pillow and hitting him on the side of his head and face.
‘Oi!’ he yells making me squeal, get up, and run.
I was laughing now, running around the lounge room like he was some killer about to get me. Finally he tackles me onto the plush lounge floor and starts to tickle me like there's no tomorrow, causing me to keep squealing and laughing. ‘Stop, stop! I'm sorry!’ I say between giggles.
‘You won't try any pillow fights again?’ he asks but not stopping as he still straddled my hips preventing me from going anywhere.
‘Yeah! Get off, stop!’ I laugh squirming like crazy and trying to grab his wrists but failing.
‘Promise?’ he pushes as he still tickled me, the edge of laughter in his voice making me sure he found this situation amusing.
‘Pinkie promise!’ I laugh, gasping for air as I could barely breathe.
