Pearson's P.O.V

After her little angry encounter I couldn’t help but wonder why she was so cut about me asking about her life. I mean, I didn’t ask anything personal right? Wrong apparently. I so need to ask the guys about her little problems cos clearly she doesn’t even want to breathe the same air as me.

I smirked at that and couldn’t help but wonder what she was like in – No Pearson! Snap out of it.

I kept my eyes ahead of me but found my eyes following the way she walked, hips swinging on a beat, if there even was one, each step so easy and serene like an angel.

Snap. Out. Of. It.

She stops abruptly in front of a door before sighing to herself with a hand on the doorknob.

‘Come in,’ a voice says unmistakably General Coldwell’s and a second later I find myself sitting across of his desk beside a scowling Ade. Weird nickname. Why not Ana? Sounds more acceptable for a girl. But also, why’d she introduce herself as Ade or Ad in the first place? Did she not like her name?

‘What is it lieutenant?’ Adriana asks getting down to business just like she had at our small brief meeting, though I couldn’t help but notice the icy tone in her voice.

He smiles slightly nodding a hello before his face goes impassive as he turns back to Ade. Whoa, what’s their story?

‘Adriana, like I have said before, I would like Pearson to be a part of your group. He scored the highest – both mental, knowledge and strength out of all the guys who’s joined. And because of that he will be joining in the mission for tonight.’

I smirk.

‘But-’

‘There are no “but”s in this Adriana.’ He says sternly.

From the corner of my eye I could see her fists clenching, her eyes practically burning holes in the middle of lieutenants’ head. Wow, how has she survived this long without getting kicked out?

‘He’s not even trained yet!’ she practically yells, anger radiating off her but only calmness flowing out of General Coldwell his face and eyes steel with no emotion.

‘Adriana. I expect you to be mature about this. You are to train him and I expect no conflict or fights that will disturb anyone. Do as I say or you will be out of this mission.’

From the side I could see her chest rising and falling heavily as she breathed her anger out, her teeth gritting I was surprised her teeth haven’t broken yet.

Don’t tell me I can't go on this mission when Sheeran is a part of this,’ she hissed, ‘I need to do this, you know that. You know what he did to-’ she stopped and her head snapped to me and I couldn’t help but feel small under her sudden gaze. I watched as she calmly closed her eyes before sighing, a second later she was out of the office with the door slammed shut.

I sat there, rigid and stunned at what happened, did she just…? Yell and slam the door to one of the highest rank of America? The nerves on this girl. And what happened with Sheeran? From my studies I heard and learnt he was one of the most tainted, known, feared and strongest criminal in history, almost. Thing is he works in the back scenes, people working for him all over the world. And not once has he ever been caught or properly seen.

‘Sorry about that,’ General Coldwell says with an apologetic smile his eyes no longer holding the coldness in them. I shut my mouth as I finally realised I was gaping before sitting straighter.

‘It’s fine,’ I say truthfully.

‘You might want to let her blow off some steam for the day, if she doesn’t come ‘round before tomorrow come to my office or report it, okay?’ I nodded. ‘You’re dismissed,’ he says nodding his head to the door.
