“Dawn, we are taking the chopper into Perth later this afternoon and staying overnight if you girls would like to come with.” Chris announced whilst they sat round the dinner table that night.

Annie beamed and looked across at Dawn, trying her best to avoid Luke’s eyes.  Luke squeezed Dawn’s hand and said, “Yes Honey, come with us, it will be a break away from the farm for you and Annie.”

“Would you like to go Annie?” Dawn asked.

“I’d love to go Dawn, but it’s entirely up to you. You’re the bride and I am just as happy to stay here with you.”

Chris smiled at Annie, “If Dawn says yes, I’ll treat you girls to a spa day while we men go try on our suits for the big day.”

“Well it looks like we will be going to Perth Annie,” Dawn said smiling at her friend.

Luke passed his credit card to Dawn, “Here Honey, go have a bit of a shopping spree too. You wanted to get a couple of summer outfits for our honeymoon.”

“Luke, this is your gold card. Thanks Babe, I do feel privileged. You never part with this card ever!” Dawn exclaimed.

“Well you are going to be my wife in less than two weeks now.” Luke smiled, leant over and kissed Dawn’s cheek.

“Dawn, I’m sure Luke deserves a better thanks than that.” Chris laughed.

Luke laughed as Dawn wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him full on the lips, nipping his bottom lip before she ended the kiss.

“Dawn!” Luke looked at her in surprise, “You don’t have to eat me too. Just a kiss will be reward enough till we are on our honeymoon of course.”

“Okay, you two,” Dawn’s father commented, “You’re embarrassing Annie and your brothers.”

Everyone laughed and one by one they left the table and went to pack an overnight bag for their trip into Perth.

“Dawn, Annie,” Chris called as he knocked on their bedroom door, “Are you girls ready to leave yet.  Chopper will be leaving in half an hour.”

“Coming Chris,” Dawn called. “Come on Annie, let’s go. Whatever we’ve forgotten we can buy in Perth.  Remember I’ve got Luke’s gold card.” She said waving it in the air.

“Dawn you’re so lucky Luke trusts you with his credit card.”

“He may not after we’ve had our spending spree.” Dawn Laughed as the two girls hurriedly made their way downstairs.

The twins joined them on the chopper and the girls chatted excitedly all the way to Perth.

Annie was overwhelmed by the lavish surroundings of the Sheraton Hotel and even more amazed at the beautiful deluxe suite the girls were booked into. A very spacious double bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom the size of her bedroom back home. The sitting room was enormous with a sunny balcony opening onto stunning views of Hyde Park.

“Annie come and take a look from the balcony, the views are amazing. Just think in a couple of hours we will be having dinner at a posh restaurant down there somewhere.”

“Dawn, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.”

“Whatever for Annie?”

“For all this. For letting me share this special time with you. I have never experienced anything like this before. Your family have taken me in as one of them and made me feel so welcome.” A tear slipped down Annie’s cheek.

“Ohh, Annie,” Dawn pulled her friend into a big bear hug, “It’s been fab for me too, like having a sister at last.  I think you should just stay with me forever now.”
