After a summarized explanation, Ben and I quickly exited the scene.  I couldn't remember the following actions, because it all meshed together in a pool of both excited and nervous emotions.

When my mind did, however, snap back into reality, I was standing in front of the hospital door with Ben behind me.

I hesitated.  My heart thundered against my chest that it almost hurt.  Ever since Ginger's accident, I'd been continually praying for her recovery.  But now that she was awake and seemingly all right, it was like I didn't want to see her...

"You okay?" Ben asked softly.

My only response was a half-hearted nod.  But, with a decisive sigh, my hand grasped the doorknob and swung it open.

The first thing I heard was laughter---which wasn't what I had been expecting at all.  But upon further inspection, I found Ginger sitting upright against her pillows, with Josh seated by her bedside.

While he and Ginger were recovering from a laughing fit, I stood dumbfounded by the doorway.

Ginger looked incredible!

I supposed her injury, if she even had one, was located underneath her hospital gown.  Because otherwise you would never even guessed that she'd been in an accident.

There were no traces of bruises or minor scrapes---though I was standing a fair distance away from her.

My brows were knit together in confusion.  Apparently my baffled gesture was noticed, because Ginger looked up and said:

"Angie!  Is everything okay?"

The question nearly stunned me.  "Me?  I should be asking that about you!"

"You mean you couldn't tell already?" Ginger's genuine, bubbly smile was plastered on her face.  Was this girl always happy?

Despite Ginger's exeptional physicality and attitude, apprehension still afflicted my mind.  I knew that Ginger was a decent actor and an even better liar.  Yet her well-being felt so genuine!  But how, after enduring a car crash, could she just wake up and be completely fine?  Something was definetly amiss.

But, because of my thankfulness that Ginger was at least conscious, I decided to set aside my qualms.

"I can't believe you're okay," I said, sitting on the edge of the drab hospital bed.  I rested my crutches beside me.

"Honestly, me either," giggled Ginger.  "I don't even remember what happened before hand, so the doctor's seem to think that I have a slight case of amnesia."
