Rodney set up 2 guards in the front of the building. There were another 2 patrolling the perimeter. Xander and I slowly made our way down the steep hill and entered through a small hole from the back. We ended up behind the medical tent which wasn't too far from the main building. The two guys that were patrolling walked towards the tent and we took the opportunity to grab them from behind. We pulled them into a bush and I slit ones throat. Xander suffocated the other one and we picked up their guns. Xander grabbed the M16 while I picked up a tactical shotgun.

"Wait," Xander started, "Let's not go in guns blazing yet. We gotta make sure nobody is around and take the closest ones out. If they hear gunfire, Rodney will know something's up and send the whole cavalry out here and kill us on the spot. We'll save everybody but we have to make sure we're not discovered."

"You're right. Let's get the other two by the door. I'll take the one on the left, you get the right."

Xander nodded and we split up. I made sure to stay in the shadows and have my armor shuffle as less as possible. I saw Xander on the other side and we counted down with our fingers. When he put one finger up, we rushed our targets. Mine couldn't react in time and I shoved my blade through his chin. I pulled it out and saw Xander stab the other in his ribs. We went to the door that led into the building and peeked in. There was Rodney with a whole army of servants rounding people up into another room. I looked further and saw Hazel beside Maria. Her nose was bloody and she looked angry. I continued peeking and saw Alessandra get thrown to the ground harshly beside Stella. They continued taking the girls away until I couldn't see anymore.

"They really rounded up everybody." I said as I shut the door slowly. "How did they do it so fast?"

"No clue but I think now's the time to go guns blazing." Xander checked his ammunition and shoved the magazine back into the gun.

"But what about the people? They'll kill them."

"That's why we kill as many as we can and hope our people are smart enough to try and escape while they're distracted."

"This is suicide." I replied. "But we're doing this for our friends. I don't know exactly where they are but we'll find them. And hey, Xander. I'm glad I met you. If something happens to me, I want you to know that you're an amazing friend. Let's do this, brother."

Xander and I fist bumped and I took a deep breath. I pumped my shotgun and then kicked the door open. We rushed in and opened fire on the first group of enemies we saw. I pushed forward and opened the door to the first room I saw. A man with a goatee stood there and I reflexively kicked him into a wall. He flew back and I shot his arm off with my gun. I finished him off with a pistol and continued onward. Xander used a girl as a human shield and then kicked the now dead girl into the man that was attacking. While the assailant was distracted with the corpse, Xander shot him in the throat. We linked back up and continued into the next area.

We took cover as bullets zoomed past us. I shot blindly with my shotgun until I ran out of bullets. I pulled out my pistol and hustled forward. A bullet hit my armor and the impact knocked the wind out of me but I kept going. A woman came from behind me and ripped my helmet off. She roundhouse kicked me and I flew back into the wall. I was dazed for a second then regained my composure and rolled out of the way. I got back on my feet and she pulled out a knife. We circled around each other for a while before she made the first move. She lunged at me and I leaned to the side. I continued avoiding her attacks but the attacker managed to cut my face. I got fed up and caught her arm. I slammed my elbow down on her elbow and she screamed in pain. I grabbed my pistol and shoved the barrel in her mouth. I pulled the trigger, then her brains flew out from the back of her head. I looked over at Xander and saw him get pinned down by two people with automatic weapons. I picked up another gun and shot them in the backs.

I went to help Xander up but got hit in the back of the head with something. I fell to the floor with a thud and laid there, motionless. Xander got pinned down by a man with an eye patch. The man held a metal rod against his throat and made sure he didn't move. Someone turned me on my back and I saw Rodney glaring down at me. His glare turned into a confused smile and he motioned his head towards me. Two people picked me up and put me on my knees. The impact of the blow fucked up my vision and I was seeing double.

"Ho-ly shit, you're alive after all." Rodney said with surprise. "Your friend Hazel said you died but I didn't fully believe it. On another note, there's someone who wants to see you." Rodney called over for someone named Patchy and then the guy who was Xander down made his way next to him.

Patchy looked at me with a broken eye and it took me a while to figure out who it was. My vision cleared and I saw him. Someone I haven't seen in a long time.

"Danny?" I whispered in disbelief.

"Hey there brother." He said with remorse in his voice.

"Why? Why are you working with him?"

"He gave me and my family a place to stay when we were lost. Rodney helped us and gave me everything I needed to keep my family safe. I hate doing what I do, and when I saw you in that riot gear, my heart sank. I stopped shooting because I couldn't bring myself to shoot you."

"What happened to your eye?' I asked as I stared at his bloodied eye patch.

"That's not important." Danny looked at Xander. "That your friend?"

"Yeah but Danny what's gotten into you? Do Layla and Amanda know about what you're doing?"

Before Danny could respond, a hail of bullets came into the room, striking Rodney in the shoulder. Rodney's men all scattered and returned fire. The bullets were coming from the hostage room down the hall. Danny went by my side and dragged me away from the firefight. He leaned me up against a wall and handed me a snub revolver.

"I'll get your friend somewhere safe. I'm gonna try and get revenge on Rodney." Danny walked towards the firefight and looked back at me. "Don't die. I love you brother." Then he headed to rescue Xander.

I sat there with the snub revolver in my hand and counted the ammo in the chamber. I had 6 bullets. I closed the chamber and looked around at the hallway filled with corpses of both friends and enemies. I remembered seeing both Star and Maria laying dead on the dock, their eyes still open with bullets through their skulls. I thought long and hard about the short but bad reunion I had with Danny. He was working with Rodney. He hijacked the boat. He helped him lead the assault.

Then I thought deeper and remembered Danny did anything for his family. He still had his wife and daughter to take care of. He thought I was dead, and he didn't know I'd be here. He was doing this for his family. But now he knows I'm alive and remembered that I was family. As an ex marine, his duty was to protect those he cared for.

He was going to save Xander and make Rodney pay.
