MEANT TO BE?

A/N So it's been years since I have written...anything at all, BUT nonetheless, here something that whipped up today.  It's not in any conventional format that poetry would ever be written in, but I hope it comes through with the pauses and stressed words of how I thought it should be read out. Hope you guys like it and I hope to recieve feedback, please.

Meant To Be?

I once thought it would be a beautiful story,

Once upon a time it was meant to be.

Once...it was even meant to last...

Time froze when it all started,

but no one can make the beauty last forever.

You were supposed to be there for me,

Just as I was meant to be there for you.

But it's not that easy,

NO!

It's never that easy.

Maybe we always knew that it was all wrong;

The wrong time,

The wrong place,

The wrong people...

The wrong reasons

But still we tried to blossom into something that was never meant to be

We so very hard tried to make it last

Or at least...

I tried.

Did you?

Or was I just a game that would keep you entertained until something more fun came along?

Was I meant to play dumb so that you could feel better about yourself?

To keep quiet while I died inside feeling how every part of me began to care for you,

Breaking piece by piece for you to suck the life out of me, so that you...

YES!

So that you could feel like the brilliant person to have broken a fixed soul.

Was I even real for you?

You suffocated every part of my mind by invading it with

Your face,

The thought of you,

Guilt

Sadness

Making me feel like it was me who was wrong every single time!

You made me doubt myself

You made me doubt who I was and what I am

And now, I'm left with the broken spirit that seems to fade as the days go by

Second by second

Seeing it slip away through my fingers like sand in an hour glass...

And the only thing my mind ever thought as it broke down in pain was...

It was never meant to be...

It was never meant to last...

It was never meant to happen...
