One Last Time

this is a quick one, and not MaiChard. just felt like doing this after reading the comments from NOTM. for xoxopenguin, i hope i did some justice to your request. i might do another one, because like you, they're also my original OTP.

"Huli na ito."

"Sinabi mo na yan dati."

"I mean it this time."

"Love..."

"Don't! Hindi na tama ito. Hindi kailanman naging tama ito."

"What do you mean? You regret everything that we shared together?"

"I regret fooling ourselves into cheating our spouses."

"Huwag mong sabihin yan. Alam mong pareho nating ginusto ito because..."

"Because what? Because we were foolish to give in to lust? Because we were weak? Because we forgot we were wearing wedding bands to remind us we can never be together anymore?"

"Because we still love each other!"

She stopped her ranting and looked at him, and he could not tell whether she was angry or about to cry. It was always like this with her. She could easily read how his mind works, how she anticipates his needs even before he speaks. That's the reason why they broke up before, because she found out about him cheating on her.

But he could never tell what goes on in her mind, even with the years that they have been together before. Granted, they separated a long time ago, and they have both moved on and got married to different people, but an opportunity got them back together again, and he still feels like the 25 year old guy who was madly in love with the 22 year old girl who still puzzles him each time.

"Love, please..."

"I'm sorry, pero this time it's for real. Huli na ito."

"You can't be serious. I love you, and you love me! I know you still love me!"

She stood up and started picking her clothes from the floor. She made her way to the bathroom, and looked back at him.

"This will be the last time, so please, go back to your wife."

"Dawn..."

"I want you gone when I get out of the bathroom."

"Dawn, love, please..."

"Go, Richard. We both have an early call time tomorrow. Kailangan nating magpahinga."

She closed the bathroom door before he could see the tears falling down her face. She heard the faint knock on the door.

"Dawn...alam mong hindi ako aalis ng ganito lang..."

She put her hands to her mouth, fighting off a sob. She felt her knees weaken, for she knows that every second that he stays, she loses all of her will power. She slumps to the floor. He gently pushes the door open, sees her crying and he's quick to wrap her in his arms. She buries her head against his chest.

"Love, we will never be over. There will never be a last time for us."
