it has been a week since their holiday break and he was a little anxious at seeing her again. they were constantly communicating, of course. they always do whenever they go on separate holidays, for they still cannot sneak in a holiday together without any of their fans alerted. heck, they could track their flights online so how else would they be able to escape? he always argues that he could get a private plane for them but she will always tell him off because, hey, private planes don't come cheap.

so when he got back to work and was told that he will be going to the barangay, he couldn't contain his joy. sure, they would still be in character and that it will be a limited screen time, but he'll take it. anything that would get them to exchange lines together again. anything for her to talk to him again, for she has not responded to his messages since he posted that selfie on instagram.

almost, he captioned. and fans quickly grabbed on to this and his almost-abs, for he indeed lost weight and indeed he was getting the shape that he intended to have since he seriously got back into working out.

what he didn't prepare for was the reaction of the one person he would have wanted approval from.

"ma..."

she was sitting in her favorite chair, the one that fans gave her as a gift and now couldn't go anywhere without. she had her pillow on her lap, reading off the script guide for that day's episode of barangay jokers. she looked up when he heard his voice, and her eyes immediately smiled but he could sense that she was fighting hard to curl her lips up. he thought it as a good sign, because her eyes would always give her away and he knew that she was happy to see him. taking a deep breath he approached her and kisses her on the cheek. the crew inside the holding area one by one stepped out, knowing all too well to give them privacy. he pulled up a chair and sat next to her.

"hindi mo sinagot yung message ko kanina."

"..."

"maski nung linggo pagdating ninyo ng manila."

"..."

"ma...ano na naman ginawa ko ba?"

"..."

"yung selfie ko ba sa IG?"

"..."

"hindi ka ba proud sa kin na nagbubunga na workout ko?"

"proud naman syempre..."

"so what's wrong? bakit hindi mo na naman ako kinikibo? ang sa akin lang naman..."

"ang sa akin lang naman eh sana ipinaubaya mo muna na namnamin ko ng solo yung selfie ng abs mo di ba?! ang kaso pagka-send mo sa kin sa viber ng photo mo na yun, sinend mo na di. agad sa mundo ng social media!"

"ma naman..."

"sinabi ko naman na sa yo dati na mas gusto ko ang burger mo, pero siyempre kelangan mong maging fit para sa next project mo."

"sa iyo pa din naman ang burger ko ah."

"nasaan?! nasaan na?! wala na ko mapipisil at mahahawakan na burger o!"

"ayaw mo ba ng hotdog naman? pwede mo naman din yung hawakan saka pisilin..."

"... TIGILAN MO KO FAULKERSON!"
