The next morning I woke up the earliest that I have in my life. I was speediest than I have been in my life. Because it was something very important I had to do. It was a question of a life.

Amber's life was in my hands.

The headmistress might have decided to catch Amber and the first thing she would do that morning was to punish her like the way she did to us. Amber does not deserve that and she won't get what she doesn't until I am here, I thought to myself.

Without caring about what I looked like, I sped through the morning air and reached the elevator which took me to the Administration floor. It might have been around 7 when I rang the bell of Headmistress' office. There was no reply for a considerable amount of time and I thought that she might not have come here.

But the doors finally slid open and made way for my entry. I rushed in which had nothing to show some respect for the most important person of the institution. She was there sitting on her chair with a crude expression.

"You will need more decorum to enter my room. Don't you want to escape the blacklist?" She said sternly and simultaneously played with the paperweight on her table."Or rule breaking runs in your veins?" I didn't want to interest her with the answer.

"Good Morning mam. I am here just to ask for something." I didn't care to apologise for the 'less decorum'. She shifted in her seat a little as if she was taken a back from my request but quickly covered it by clearing her throat.

"What is it Miss Stone?"

"If you have already found Amber then I request you to punish me instead. She is into this because of me. It's not her mistake. Please I request you." I said with at most plea in my words. It did nothing to soften her face, it was as tough as a rock.

She blinked her eyes rapidly and looked at me."That is very brave of you but I see you weren't as fair with your other two friends. Looks like you are being partial with Amber." After all this she expected me to rile up? Really?

"Mam, that's not what I meant. The only thing I want is Amber's punishment for me instead. I will do anything it takes just don't hurt Amber."

She said nothing for a while. Her face didn't give me a clue of what she had in her mind. "As a matter of fact we haven't found Miss Louise yet. Posnega is a vast city, not big but have many places to hide. But due to your small time here and no knowledge about the city, Amber might not have guessed about any of these places. So I am sure my team might be on the way to the institute, bringing her,"

And before I could interrupt her she continued.

"I know what you want to hear. Yes, I will consider your request. So I will call you when the time comes. For now you can proceed for your breakfast." She said and started working on her touchpad on the table.

Relief washed over me but the fear of getting punished again was constant. I felt better about Amber. At least she wouldn't have to go through what we had." Thank you so much Mam. I owe you for this." The second sentence was to butter up, I never wished to stay on the blacklist.
