The first day of our extra practice sessions was not the best. Mr. Mark called us to the gym at 5 in the evening saying that we have one and half hour to exercise as much as we can so that we can loose some fixed amount of calories. The number was given to us as a target and he won't let us out until we loose those many calories, even if one and half hour was done.
Amber also joined us today. She wasn't in any mood to come but Mr. Mark was already a little angry with her absence at gym on the previous day. The third girl was Pearla, a Nigerian girl and her physique was far better than mine and Amber's.
All the boys were fresh and wanted to start these sessions. From the other day Jeremy was very excited for this practice and Diego was no less. They were both on talking terms which was quite astonishing. Few days before they were at their throats and now they are actually being friendly.
But one thing wasn't good, the second year competitive were not to come today. They would come only when Mr. Mark called them.
The practice started, I thought treadmill will be a good start so I climbed on one. The tempo was good, my conscience said proudly. When it was only two minutes gone I thought it was ten minutes. The following incident proved it.
I started running on the treadmill and after a while I increased its speed. It was exhausting and sweat did drip off me so I thought I have had enough and got off it. Kay was on a treadmill adjacent to mine and gave me a weird stare, I returned that to him. "Why did you get down so early? It's only been two minutes."
I widened my eyes in amazement but quickly hid it by saying,"I got bored. I wanna try some other machines, you know like, cycle." I got on one and started paddling. I didn't meet eyes with anyone because I was too embarrassed. We had to enter our names whenever we used a machine and only then it would work. The name was a like key to unlock the machine.
The machines calculated our lost calories till three decimals. Example: 16.445 cal. Which was annoying.
So if you miss the calories count by 0.002 you are still not considered as completing the assignment. The count for the first day was just 600 calories which wasn't much but I didn't even loose 60 in the first half an hour. The gym had a pin drop silence except for the noises made by the machines. I switched from one machine to other and observed which would let me loose the most calories. My favorite was arc trainer. It was nice to have a rhythmic movement of both hands and legs. Moreover its efficiency was more than others so I spent most of my time on it.
In the end of one and half hour only Diego and Pearla made it more than 1000 calories but Mr. Mark let us go because it was the first day and I can't be anymore thankful to him. Amber walked me to my room in that time we talked. "You danced so well yesterday," I appreciated her.
"Thanks!" Amber chirped. I wondered what energy she got to say that with excitement. "I have a thing to tell you,"
"Tell,"
"You know Ashton? Second year competitive?" I nodded and suddenly her talk was more interesting."He asked me whether he would like to train me? I said yes! But that's not what I want to tell, he said that he asked me only because he would like to train with me!" Till then we reached my room and we were standing outside it.
But Ashton asked me also? Then why did he-?
Amber clicked my fingers in front of me,"What do you think about it?" She asked with a smile.
