A Different Ending

Awake

They measured out the potion and put each does in a cup and carefully walked to the guest bedroom. They got into the room and both had tears threatening to fall at the sight of their friends, as their condition had not stopped them aging. Remus handed his cup to Peter and went to prop Lily into sitting position; they did Lily first because if James saw Lily like this he would probably murder them. Peter went and forced her mouth open, he dribbled the potion in little buy little. Once they had gotten the whole cup down they moved onto James, they finished with him and their was nothing left to do but wait.

"Remus let's go back to researching." Peter sighed sadly wanting to cry, he had been so sure this one would work.

"Why would we do that? They could still wake."

"No potions should work almost instantaneously it didn't work."

"Peter that's one people who are moving and i guess 'living' which James and Lily aren't doing. We just have to wait a little longer for it to get through their systems."

"Just because i'm desperate we can keep waiting." Peter huffed. Once he said that he saw Lily twitch. "Moony did Lily just move?"

"I don't know i think she did." The jumped up and ran to the bed, they wanted to be the first things their friends saw when they woke.

Lilys head turned then her fingers flexed very slowly. The saw James stretch his leg and move his arm. Then suddenly he sat bolt up and screamed.

"Go Lily, take Harry and go!" He looked terrified and Remus and Peter tackled him in a hug. "Guys why are you here?" He looked around the room and when his eyes landed on Lily. "Is she dead?" His voice was barely a whisper.

"Take me leave Harry, take me please!" Lily sat up right next to him and got tackled by three people. "Guys? Where am i." They got off of Lily and sat down to explain everything to James and Lily.

"Remus do i have to?" Peter really didn't want to explain that he had betrayed them but more he didn't want to tell them Harry was being abused.

"Yes Peter they deserve to know it ok i'm right here."

"What do you need to tell us, what's going on?" Lily narrowed her eyes and Peters tears threatening to spill over.

"Well here the hardest part. It's been ten years since you were attacked." He flinched as if ready to be attacked by angry Lily.

"What do you mean ten years. Peter what aren't you telling us!" James tried to get out of bed but Remus caught him because his muscles had not been used in so long.

"You were attacked by Voldemort ten years ago and i'm the reason he found you." He couldn't hold back the tears they just started freely running down his face and he didn't stop them.

"You what!" James roared and Lily put a hand on his chest to keep him sitting. "Care to explain Peter." He spoke like he didn't know wether to be angry or hug Peter.

"Voldemort played to my weakness which was not thinking i was as brave or worthy of being in Gryffindor as the rest of you."

"Not true you are a true Gryffindor." James interrupted forgetting to be mad.

"Yes i know that now thanks to Remus. But somehow he found about me being the secret keeper, i don't know about that, and he bribed and convinced me to give up the location. I did and felt so horrible about it, it was eating away at my very existence. I knew i couldn't go through with it and created a plan to try and save you. I had to pretend to be on his side till the night he went attack. The day he planned to attack nobody disturbed me so i put the last part of my plan together. That evening i snuck into your house as a rat and hid in the shadows when he cast the curse i put a shield spell and a sleeping charm but with the two mixed but you into a coma. But once i did Lily i wasn't fast enough to put the charms on Harry." Lily stifled a sob. "But good news he's alive." Lily and James both breathed a sigh of relief. "I don't know what happened but he managed to kill Voldemort which Remus does know and can tell you."
