A Different Ending

New Pranks

The next morning all the adults had ended up sleeping in until they heard Harry bounding around the house taking it all in.

"Oi Prongs make your kid shut it. I want to sleep." A grumpy disheveled exhausted Sirius Black walked into the room waking James and Lily. He was soon followed by a just as tired Remus but he was more composed and forced himself to get ready for the day.

"Padfoot the kid is up and so are we, let's do something to scare him."

"James Potter you will not! He won't know what happening you can't do that!" Lily lunged after James who was in the hall with Sirius. Before she could stop him he smirked at her and they melted into stag and dog. The two looked at Remus who nodded and called out.

"Hey Harry can you come up here so we can talk some more?" A shout was returned and Remus pulled Lily back into the bedroom.

"Remus why are you helping them!" Lily demanded but Remus smirked as a response and motioned to the cracked door.

"Once a Marauder always a Marauder Lily." He cackled as they watched as Harry ran into the hall looking around for Remus. It took him a moment but he noticed the large black dog and a stag standing in the hall looking at him.

"Mum why is there a deer and a dog in the hall? Is this normal?" He continued looking at the animals, he even tried to talk to them. "Is this normal in wizard houses? Thats weird, wizard, i'm wizard. I can do magic?" Remus was on the floor with silent laughter. The dog let out a bark which sounded like Sirius' signature bark laugh while the stag made an almost honking noise. Harry jumped at the sound sounds and looked terrified. Lily had seen enough she suppressed her giggles and walked into the hall.

"Sirius Black! James Potter! Can't you see your scaring the poor boy? You change back right now!" Slowly Harry's eyes widened as he watched the animals slowly change into his father and godfather. Once they changed back they, just like Remus, were on the floor laughing.

"How did you guys do that? Iy was so cool?" Harry was amazed. "Can all wizards do that?"

"I will explain everything later darling, first let me deal with you immature family." She turned to them along with Remus who was now in the hallway. "You guys are too old for this. It is one thing at school when you were teenages and people new about magic. It is another thing to do when you are adults who should have grown up and on you son James who knows nothing about magic. Why did i even assume anything would change?"

"Lils you know you enjoyed it because you were laughing to, also you were very wrong to assume anything would change. You were very wrong." Remus did his most charming smile up at her.

"You Remus Lupin are supposed to be on my side, how can you let them do this. You were always on my side during these pranks, why has it changed now?" She crossed her arms down at them.

"Lily did you actually think Remus was against these pranks?" Sirius now tried for a charming smile.

"I knew he participated but i always assumed you guys would drag him in."

"Oh no, Moony thought up most of them, planned them out, created the map, and made the, possible. We were the lackeys for the mastermind." James had stood up and was pulling the other two to their feet. "I'm starving and we don't have food. Harry we will explain everything later but we need to eat first.
