Hatred is a cold and dark place
where you sentence yourself to a bitter exile
an escape from confronting your own sadness and regret
a refusal to understand another's suffering
an aversion to the harsh and hurtful truth
unwilling to sacrifice the time it takes to mend mutual wounds
an avoidance to the responsibility of making things right
Hatred is the easy way out
a self-destructive grudge that will poison everything you touch
it won't lead you to forgiveness or salvation
it won't alleviate your guilt or trauma
it won't heal your wounds or unshackle your soul
if you don't let go it will eat you slowly from the inside out
and you'll only end up hurting yourself in the end
