You were my messiah
and you had me on my knees
obeying every word like holy scripture
drinking every promise like the blood of Christ
bowing to your every whim as if you were God

even when you spat on all my prayers
and turned your back on your most faithful acolyte
I don't believe in you anymore
I found my own faith
a spiritual connection that can never be broken
guiding me along a more righteous path
and you can't take that away from me anymore
