Horror is my favorite genre
it taught me that I'm not a monster
that we all have things we hate and fear about ourselves
that hope and redemption can be found in the darkest places
that being pushed beyond our limits can give us the strength to struggle through our bleakest moments
that all our deepest fears can be confronted
that we can overcome our crippling insecurities
that we can drag our unhealed trauma out into the open
it showed me that we're all fighting our own demons
and it comforts me to know that none of us have to face them alone
