Chapter 2: Hannah's POV
I returned home from being at Josie's house and laid on my bed with Pepper. My Mom came into my room in a huff. "Where have you been?" She asked. I could almost see smoke coming out of her ears. "At a friends house Mom. I'm not a kid anymore. I'm nineteen." I say. Her expression softens a bit. "I know but I'm afraid of losing you." She said, a bit sad. "That kind of reminds me of what I've been thinking about. Mom, I wanna move out." I say. "I don't want to move out of state but I need my own place." I had been thinking about it for the past three months. She looks at me in worry. "One more month. Hannah, please." She was practically begging me. "One more month. That's it." I say.
After that mess, Mom left and I was finally by myself for a while. I unpacked a bit of my things and felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I took my phone out to find Josie's number on the screen. We had exchanged phone numbers when I was at her house. "Want to go to the mall tomorrow?" It said. I was so happy that I already had someone that was my friend, and that she wanted to hang out with me. "Of course! What time?" I reply. I press send and look at all of my clothes. "What to wear?" I think to myself. I pick out my favorite top and some jean shorts. I got another text back from Josie saying "At noon." Perfect. I go through the rest of the evening waiting eagerly and re-reading my favorite book series.
I wake up at about nine and get up to sun pouring through my shades. I walk downstairs and eat breakfast. I get dressed then head to the bathroom to straighten my hair and put on light makeup. I pack my cross body purse with the essentials. "I'm going to the mall!" I shout before I walk out the door. "See you later!" I hear Mom shout back from upstairs. I slip on some flip flops, and go out to the apartment parking lot to our mini van. As I drive there I get a text from Josie saying "Meet me by the food court." I smile and drive on while I voice text back: "I'll see you there!"
I walk into the mall and see Josie at a food court table. "Hey! Where do you wanna go first?" She asks. "Abercrombie?" I ask. "Sure, why not?" She replies with a smile. We start to walk to Abercrombie when all the sudden a crowd catches my eye. "Whoa, who are they?" I ask Josie. I was looking at two boys on a stage doing magic tricks. One had blonde hair and the other with brown. "I have no idea!" She says. We walk over just in time to see the trick in action. The crowd cheers and I find myself and Josie doing the same. "That's it for today! Thank you!" The boy with blonde hair said smiling and waving. "Aren't they amazing?" A girl next to us asks. "Yeah, who are they?" I ask. "Collins and Devan Key! They are YouTubers and are fantastic at magic tricks!" She replies. All the girls in the crowd ran toward both of them, asking for autographs and pictures. The crowd started to die down but Josie and I started to get tired of waiting. "It's too bad we don't have enough time to meet them. They were kinda cute." I said. Josie kind of looked at me in surprise. "I know! I hope we see them somewhere else!" She says. "Doubtful though." I say a bit disappointed. We had lunch and planned another day for the pool. "Until next time Key bros, until next time" I thought to myself as I left the mall. I looked back at the mall one last time and left smiling to myself. Then think to myself: "I think I'm in love"
