Hannah's POV
I drove home barely conscious. "Did that really just happen?" I thought to myself. Hopefully that was all real and I hadn't been dreaming. I pinched myself at a stop light just to make sure. Ow, nope it was real. I check my phone and text my friend Avery from Ohio. "Yeah, I'll visit Ohio in a couple of weeks don't worry. But I'll call you when I get home. I HAVE to tell you something." I have butterflies in my stomach. Not a good thing after I just ate a really good queso. I park the car in the parking lot and just sit and think about how awesome it was.
I think I must've fell asleep because I kinda woke up around ten holding my phone in hand and I had at least one million missed calls from Avery and three texts from her asking "Where are you??" Oops... I didn't know if I should call her back at this hour so I just turned off my phone and went inside without giving it much thought.
The next morning I felt dizzy and sick. Kind of like I was going to puke. I had gotten three more missed calls from Avery and some messages from her with some colorful words. Sorry Avery. I thought to myself as if she could hear my thoughts. I called Avery and remembered last night's huge event I will never forget. She picked up and sounded tired but annoyed. "Um, weren't you supposed to call me last night?" She asked upset and sassy-like. "Yeah, sorry Avery. I feel asleep." I told her trying to sound as honest as I could. Because it was the truth. "Whatever, what did you want to tell me. You sounded so desperate to tell me." I didn't really feel like telling her anymore. She was being sassy and I didn't like it. "You know what Avery, never mind! I don't need your sass and you're not who you used to be! I JUST HATE YOU GET OUT OF MY LIFE!!" I yelled, hung up and threw my phone to the carpeted floor. Who needed Avery anyways? I thought to myself. She never replies to me anyways. Besides, I was sick and not feeling it today.
I went downstairs and got some breakfast and looked at my phone, scrolling through Instagram. "I'm going to work!" Mom shouted from upstairs. "Can I go with you?" Tyler asked. I heard Mom sigh and say under her breath "Why me?" Tyler didn't seem to hear her but I feel like Mom rolled her eyes. "Whatever Tyler, just stay out of my way when we get there." Tyler looked upset, and looked at the floor with his wide, watery eyes. Mom gathered her purse the size of a watermelon and stuffed more junk into it. She grabbed Tyler by the wrist and pulled him out the door without saying bye. I just laughed under my breath and poured some more oatmeal.
I was so bored of scrolling through Twitter and Instagram that I text Josie and asked her to come over. "Sure!" She replied. I got dressed into some real clothes and waited on the couch in the living room. She arrived around twelve. I was so surprised when I opened the door because not only was she there, so were the Key bros. "Hey guys, come on in!" I say, trying to contain my excitement. We play games on the Xbox and have lunch made by me. "What should we do after lunch?" Collins asks. "Truth or dare, truth or dare!" Devan chants. "I guess it's truth or dare!" Collins says grinning.
Lunch finishes and we head back to the living room. "I'll start." Josie suggested. "Okay." I said. Not like a I wanted to go first. I thought. "Collins, truth or dare?" Josie asked. "Dare." He stated, rather proud of himself. "Collins, I dare you to....let Pepper lick your face five times." Collins' face turned red. "No, ew." He said. "You picked dare you gotta do it!" Josie said, amusing herself. I let Pepper out of her crate and gave her to Collins. He examined Pepper and said: "I didn't know you had a dog! I assumed that Pepper was a dog though." I laughed and gestured for him to do the dare. He gave me an embarrassed look and lifted Pepper slowly towards his face. Pepper went kinda crazy. She licked him like crazy, way more than 5 times. "Ok ok," Collins said putting Pepper down. Josie laughed and said, "I gave you an easy one!" She punched him playfully on the arm. Collins grinned and said, "It's my turn now!" He rubbed his hands pretending to make up his evil scheme. "Devan, Truth or Dare!" Collins said, very excited. "Dare! Come on, do you even know me?" Devan said jokingly. "Okay, just asking." Collins said as if questioning his decision. "Devan...I dare you to...kiss Josie!" Collins exclaimed. My stomach did a weird turn and I felt like I might puke. "What?" I demanded. "Okay, whoa! First of all, how do you know that Devan even likes Josie?!" I asked offended. Collins went to say something but Josie butted in. "It's just a silly game Hannah chill out!" Josie stammered. "A silly game?! He might kiss one of us! How could you say something like that?! Devan should just choose who he wants to kiss!" I said, defendant of Devan's own opinions. Devan looked like he didn't know what to say. "Guys, we should just-" Collins started, but I wasn't finished. "Devan just pick! How hard can it be?!" Devan got up and Collins followed and they both went out the door. Josie sat in awe and said: "Great job." With a hint of sarcasm in her voice and walked out the door. What have I done?
