CHAPTER 14
“Fuck you mean in the hospital!” I exclaimed on the phone with Dee. As soon as I received her text message I called her as soon as possible.
“Yeah girl! Didn’t you hear?” she responded.
“Uh obviously not if I’m calling you!” I exclaimed.
“Calm down calm down.”
“What happened?”
I began to pace around my room. I couldn’t think straight. What the hell happened in a matter of what? No more than an hour? I tried to sit back on my bed to calm my nerves. Dee began to tell me what happened.
“Well I heard from Chi Chi who heard from Sherrell wh-”
“This bitch..” I mumbled.
“Listennn! I heard from Chi Chi who heard from Sherrell who is friends with one of Darren’s friends who told her that he was driving and a deer ran into the road and tried to swerve around it but crashed into another car that was in front of someone’s house.”
“Wait, so you are telling me that Darren crashed into a parked car?” I asked her.
“Yes.”
“Because Bambi decided to run into the street?”
“Yes.”
“So now he’s in the hospital?”
“Yes bitch yes!” Dee said anxiously.
“I have to go see him. I have to make sure he’s okay.”
“They aren’t allowing any visitors right now. “Dee said.
“How do you know all of this?” I asked her.
“Because Chi Chi told me that Sherrell told her tha-”
“Okay okay I get it.”
I was beyond frustrated by this. How come it took so many damn people to pass the message for me to find out he was hurt? Why didn’t anyone tell me other than Dee?
