CHAPTER 17

“Fuck you mean your so called boyfriend is coming?” Dee spat out angrily.

I did not mention to Dee that Darren would be coming until we actually got to the mall the next day.  I knew if I had told her any time before then that she would have a fit a cancel the plans.  Despite me loving that idea, I knew it wasn’t fair to her.  She has been wanting to shop and asked me to come so I did.  But I had to annoy her just a little.  I tried not to laugh while she threw a tantrum in the store.  She was roughly and aggressively tossing dresses she did not like to the side out of frustration.

“I know you were just expecting us, but he just got out and I felt bad that I had no other time to be with him.”

“Yeah yeah yeah.  My ass.” Dee mumbled.

“Oh don’t be so dramatic.  You haven’t even given him a chance!” I yell frustrated at her.

“Because he’s a douche.” she says.

“Oh yeah.  That helps.”  I said to her. “Think of it as a way for you guys to get to know each other a little more.”

By Dee’s grim face expression I knew that wasn’t going to happen for a while, or if ever at all.  I threw my hands up giving up and continuing to shop for dresses.

“You are probably just trying to torture me on purpose.” Dee mumbled again.

Like I was actually going to admit to that.  I laughed a little as I held up a cute pink dress that was strapless and had a little flare to it.

“What do you think of this one?” I asked Dee.

She looked at it like it was death.

“It would be cute if we were going to church.”

Now it was my turn to get annoyed and throw clothes around.  After three more shops I still found nothing.  Yet Dee seemed to have found her outfit in the last store we went to.  She found a cute tribal printed dress that was strapless and had the sides cut out.  She had the body to fit it so of course she got it.  I on the other hand struggled with everything in my sight.
