Matthew searched for hours hoping to see a sign of Connor. He was nowhere to be found but Matthew continued to go deeper into the forest without fear. Lingering in the woods were just about the most dangerous outsiders. They didn't fit in the town and never would. Matthew knew that. Susie knew it. But Connor didn't. Everything seemed like it didn't matter to Matthew as he scanned and scavenged each bush and tree for someone he'd just met.
"Could we just take a break?" Susie looked at the sky. "It's almost one in the morning." Matthew scoffed. "You can take a break. I'm not. I'll find him." He spat at her as if she had just killed his feelings once more.
Suzie sighed knowing she couldn't leave him to walk in the dark alone. Matthew was determined as his mind raced and his heart screamed for answers that he knew he wasn't getting anytime soon. He had to find him, he blamed himself for Connor being gone and he had to save him.
