Briar
I didn't know what to say after the thing with Alex. I had to think. Here I was about to lose my best friend and the best thing that has ever happened to me. Seeing Lycan so angry at me made me realize that he had feelings for me. Feelings that had been there for years and I just didn't bother to notice them.
"So what?" Lycan asked his tone was cold. I was looking a broken boy trying to protect himself from being hurt again by me. "I'm sorry," I spoke up looking at him. "I didn't realize before but now I do."
"Realize what?" His voice cracked. Lycan swallowed hard and turned away from me, I just simply couldn't take no for an answer, this was my chance at redemption. I had to make this right. I stooped to his level getting in his face leaning against the tree, trapping him.
"Move." He said looking down while his cheeks turned that slightly pinkish color I knew all too well. It was noticeable under the moonlight that he was blushing. I smiled. "Why?" I teased him and placed my hands on his waist as I looked into his eyes. A smile spread across his lips, and he tried to push me off but he knew I was stronger.
I chuckled. "Have you given up yet?" I asked smiling. He nodded and sat there in defeat looking down at the grass. Our moment was gone and so was his smile, I sighed and stepped back letting him go.
He quickly pulled away and walked towards the lake. I don't try to grab him, I just watched him walk while he ran his fingers through his hair, I trailed behind him slowly "You know the only relationship, I've ever had was with Isabelle?" He said finally speaking up. "I know I'm worthless and ruined now right?" I got closer to him, he looked at me. "No," I answered firmly. "It's not that. I never judged you on that. I know what's she done."
Lycan turned around and I met his gaze with pleading eyes, I didn't want to lose him but at this rate, it seemed likely. There I was being silent again. Why couldn't I just say what I felt!
"Then why don't you love me?" Lycan said broken heartedly. "Because I love you more than anything."
I didn't have any words that could fix how I had hurt him. I do love you. But I didn't know how to say that yet. How could I?
I grabbed him from behind and hugged him. For a split second, he relaxed against me and our bodies felt like they were one. I thought that might have helped. Until he remembered why he was angry, he resisted and slipped and we went tumbling into the cold lake water. "Ah! Bloody Fuck! That's cold." He screamed. I couldn't help but laugh at the moment because seeing his blond hair soaking and his white shirt soaked that showed his rosy pink nipples under the moonlight, it just made laugh even if I was all wet too. Lycan pushed me and started to smile again.Soon our pushing turned into a water fight, splashing over and over. For right now I was just winging it till I could find the right words to say to him. Maybe I never would. But who knows what could happen right. In this moment all I wanted was to see him smile. Eventually I'd come up with the right thing to say.
