"Anything I need to know about your family?"Beyoncé asked rubbing her hands on her thighs. The day after our meeting we decided for Beyoncé to meet my family. The quicker this was done the better.
"I have one younger sister Kaari and an older brother Pablo but we don't talk about him?"
"Why?"
"You're very curious Beyoncé, always asking lots of questions,"I chuckled.
"It's in my nature,"she shrugged. "Anything else?"
"Not really. My mom's really easy to get to know and my sister has that sass but it's fine. Just be yourself,"she nodded and we rolled up to Ma's place.
I parked and got out before opening Bey's door. She looked cute in that outfit.
"Ready?"she nodded and I led her to the door. I pressed on the bell and waited for a while.
"It's a nice neighbourhood,"Bey looked around the area while waiting. The door opened and my 16 year old sister smiled.

"Wassup Kaari?"she pulled away from me and turned to Bey.
"Hi, I'm Jay's sister and I'm sure you like him now but once you get to know him you'll run a mile and half,"she held out her hand for Bey to shake and she giggled. I kissed my teeth at my younger sister.
"Hi Kaari, I'm Beyoncé. Nice to meet you,"Bey shook her hand.
"Y'all come in,"Kay moved aside so we could step into the warmth of the house. "Ma's been cooking forever. We were so surprised when we heard that you were bringing your 'girl'. I mean, an ugly nigga like you? Bring a woman home that you plan on marrying? Psht. Heather was a crazy bitch but now I'm starting to wonder what women see in you,"Kay shook her head and I lightly punched her arm.
"Shut up Kaari. You really need to learn when to keep your mouth shut,"I grumbled.
"Why?"she sat on the cream, c-shaped couch and pressed play on the remote going back to watching Orange is the New Black.
"Are you meant to be watching that?"I pointed with my eyebrows raised. Kaari didn't pay any attention to me making me kiss my teeth again.

I decided to leave them alone and go to the kitchen. The savoury scent of soul food made my mouth water like a river.
