Beyoncé
"It's alright, Bey, it's okay,"Jay rubbed my back as I wiped my tears.
This session just brought back flashbacks that I wasn't prepared for. For years I'd tried to bury my ghosts yet they specially came alive at night. No matter how hard I tried I just couldn't get rid of my demons.
"Beyoncé how do you feel right now?"
"Like Ebenezer fucking Scrooge,"I rolled my eyes.
"I will further explain why we decided to do this activity after we have Jay's turn,"Jay whipped his head nodded.
"You may come in now,"Topan ordered. Not to my surprise, a young man who looked just like Jay came into the office. He laid back and closed my eyes knowing all his deep, dark secrets were soon to be laid on the floor. He knew about me now so it was time for me to know about him.
"Wassup y'all. The name's Shawn. Shawn Carter but I'm called Jay on the streets. I've never had it easy and that's why I live life well now I've got the money. Growing up it was a hard knock life for us. Us as in me and my sister Kay. We didn't have enough money so we went to the shittest school in the shittest shoes. Ma would struggle on a daily basis trying to get us a healthy life. She did go back to school but when the pressure was too much for us she dropped out and worked full time. I hated seeing her break her back and shed blood so I started robbing at the age of 10. First it was small local stores but then it got bigger and bigger until Ma caught me. I actually saw how disappointed she was in me so I stopped doing it. My grandma had a heart attack so we moved her into the Projects with us. It wasn't the best but she couldn't be on her own like that. My pops came back into our lives out of the blue when I was eleven. Him and Ma got back together much to YaYa's disapproval. Everywhere we went he'd spend his money like there was a machine in his pocket. For the first time we were getting to live like rich people. We moved out of the Projects and moved into a bigger house for all of us. I was more into my books now that I knew Ma was set and everything was cool; I wanted to be a basketballer. Shit was great until I walked into Pops fucking some bitch while Ma was at work. He didn't want me to tell Ma but I did. She knew I wasn't lying so she left him,"I heard soft sniffles and looked to realise Jay was crying. Without a word I wiped his tears like he did mine.
"Pops begged Ma to take him back all the time but that woman was the third woman he'd brought into their bedroom according to YaYa. Ma was tired of it and she didn't want Kay growing up and seeing all the foolishness she put up with. I hated him because he'd played my ma and that wasn't fair. He couldn't come in and out like a jack in the box. One minute he was dad of the year and the next he was deadbeat of the year. I couldn't fuck with that so I distanced myself from him. There was a time that things got deadly...really deadly. I remember coming back from my last day in 7th grade. We had the basketball game later that day and I was the captain so I couldn't miss it. Plus there was someone important coming along too. Ma, YaYa and Kay were my biggest fans when it came to my basketball and I'd got them front row tickets to see the final game. That's what it was...the final game. When I got home I heard screaming and yelling. It came from Ma's room so I went there. All I saw was him punching Ma and kicking her stomach. Ma tried to fight back and when she kicked his area he doubled over and a gun flew out. Ma told me to go but all of us had our eyes on the gun. He pulled Ma's hair pulling her to the ground. I ran to the gun, took it and shot at him five times. BANG! BANG!!BANG!!!BANG!!!! BANG!!!!!Sirens rang through my mind and ears. In the midst of deciding whether I'd killed this man or not he laid on the beige carpet in his own pool of deep scarlet blood. Ma was half covered in it since he pulled her to the ground. It was obvious he was dead so my questions were answered. I'd killed my own father. The cops came immediately as the neighbours called them. Ma took the blame at first when they asked but once the fingerprints came back they knew she was lying. Our lawyer did claim self defence, which it was, but I shot him five times and the jury thought that it was more than enough because when the autopsy came back it was confirmed that the first bullet pierced through his heart. I was only 12 but I went to jail for six months and was on probation for another six. That night I missed what could've been the start of a potential basketball career. When I came out Ma broke it down to me that YaYa had died two days before I came out of an illness she kept from everyone- cancer. So now, when I thought I could have a fresh start, my grandma died. She left a letter for us all because she knew her days were numbered. She wanted me to lead the family when Ma couldn't and to always focus on ahead because that's where I was going. She also wanted me to marry someone before I turned 30 so I could spend the rest of my life with someone I loved just like she did with grandpa. I did my best and became the rapper I am today. Ma kept on pressuring me to find somebody because Heather had betrayed me and so did my cousin, Pedro, who we took in as a brother/son when we were 20 because his parents died in a car crash. I really did love Tamika as my own but they took her away from me. Now I'm here trying to save a fake marriage and realise where I went wrong,"the guy walked out.
I'd never seen Jay cry like this. He was like a baby and I saw a different side to him.
"I'm so sorry Jay,"he rested his head on my shoulder as I comforted him. Looks like we're not that different.

Author's Notes:On the 4th Day of Christmas Jay had his story revealed too😓
1)Do you now see bey and Jay as more relatable to each other?
2)Now they know everything about each other can they move on from here?
3)What was the worst part about Jay's story?
This is why I didn't reveal TOO much about Bey and Jay in the previous chapters so I hope y'all enjoyed the last two🤞🏾
