Camila's POV
It had been a month since the day me and Lauren agreed to be friends and she's been trying really hard ever since. She continued her career but on a smaller scale, making time for me and her family in amongst it. I appreciated how much effort Lauren was putting in to our newfound friendship, not to mention the friendship had now expanded to include her two best friends also. Me, Lauren, Dinah, ally and Normani had become almost like a small group of friends, all seeming to hit it off instantly, especially Normani and Dinah. As much as the two denied it, me and Lauren knew there was something going on between the two of them, it was just a matter of waiting for them to admit it. Whenever the three girls weren't performing, we'd try our best to see each other, whether that be in London or Brighton, whichever was easier. I'd make sure to bring Leo with me whenever I came to London, Lauren seemingly still fascinated with the puppy.
Right now, we were on the beach in the Brighton as the weather was amazing for the UK and we were trying to make the most of it. All the girls were splashing about in the shallow part of the sea whilst I decided to take a break, sitting further back on a towel. I saw Lauren approaching me from the water, looking unbelievably amazing in her black bikini, not that I would ever admit that to her face.
"Hey camz, what're you doing over here by yourself?" She questioned, sitting next to me on the towel and flashing me a smile.
"Just thinking" I replied honestly.
"Penny for your thoughts" she answered, clearly wanting to know what was on my mind.
"Nothing interesting, just thinking" I spoke, offering her a soft smile.
"You're good at that" she laughed slightly.
"I still haven't figured out if thats a good thing or a bad thing" I smiled honestly.
"It's a good thing, you have an amazing mind camz" the older girl smiled and I smiled back.
"But you better get your ass up soon cabello, you're missing all the fun" she nudged my shoulder, standing to her feet and offering me her hand which I gladly accepted."You know, if you hold my hand like that, people are gonna think you're my girlfriend" she commented, raising her eyebrow at me.
"Nice try Jauregui" I replied, pulling my hand out of the green eyed girls hand. Her attempt was admirable but didn't quite work.
"Meh, it was worth a try" she laughed and nudged her with my shoulder playfully before joining the rest of the girls.
After the beach, me and the rest of the girls went to get food at an Italian down the road. We slid into a booth big enough for the 5 of us, receiving the occasional look from young girls and boys, clearly fans of fifth harmony. I'd gotten use to the constant eyes watching you when being out with the girls as it tended to happen a lot.
"Hey, can I take your order?" A waitress with blonde hair and amazing blue eyes spoke as she arrived at our table. We all placed our order but she didn't seem to take her eyes off of Lauren the entire time. "And what about you beautiful?" She spoke as she was about to take Lauren's order, oh hell no. Lauren placed her order, not looking at the waitress the entire time, thankfully.
"Thankyou babe" Lauren spoke as the waitress took our menus away, oh she had some nerve. I decided to ignore the encounter, not wanting Lauren to know that I was crazy jealous right now.
"Hey guys I'm just gonna head to the toilet, mani you coming?" Lauren spoke to her best friend.
"Sure" she replied as they both left the booth.
"Ok mila, tell me you wasn't just jealous as hell that the waitress was hitting on Lauren" Dinah spoke as soon as they left the table.
"I don't know what you mean D, she was just nice that's all" I lied and Dinah saw straight through me.
"She practically undressed her with her eyes mila, don't act like you didn't see that" ally spoke, clearly agreeing.
"Ok so maybe I did notice, not that it matters, me and Lauren aren't together, I can't stop her" I replied honestly, knowing I had no control over the older girl.
"Doesn't mean she can hop into bed with someone else, the two of you sort of have some unfinished business" Dinah stated and ally nodded in agreement.
"Doesn't mean she belongs to me, she can do whatever she wants" i stated and both girls raised their eyebrows.
"You don't want that and you know it Mila, come on" Dinah pointed out and I rolled my eyes at how true her words were. Right on cue, the two girls returned to the table.
"What are you guys talking about?" Lauren spoke, sliding back into the booth next to me.
"Nothing" the three of us spoke in unison, making it very obvious to both Lauren and Normani that it definitely was not nothing.
"Rightttt" Normani replied, with a confused look on her face.
After we finished our meals, Dinah asked for the bill and the waitress came to bring it to our table, making it her mission to stare at Lauren for as long as she could in the process.
"Hey, I know this is weird but do you think I could get your number?" The waitress spoke to Lauren after placing the bill on our table.
"Actually, I erm, have a girlfriend" Lauren spoke and relief washed over me hearing the older girl decline.
"Oh shit sorry, is it one of you guys?" She spoke, looking around at the four of us before I spoke up and instantly regretted it.
"Actually its me" I spoke and all four of the girls looked at me in shock. I nudged Lauren under the table, trying to make her at least play along for the next few minutes. "Isn't that right babe?" I prompted.
"Erm yeah right, this is Camila, my girlfriend" Lauren spoke, clearly savouring the words.
"Oh well my apologies, you two seem an amazing couple" the woman spoke before walking away.
"Thanks for that" Lauren spoke, the other three girls watching us intensely.
"Oh sure no problem buddy" I replied, buddy, nice one Camila. I could hear ally and Normani whispering from the other side of the booth, ally wanting her to clarify my words.
"Yeah, right" Lauren spoke awkwardly and the table dropped silent, no one knowing what to say.
"Anyway, we better get going, right Mila? we'll see you guys tomorrow" Dinah spoke, grabbing my hand and pulling me away from the table. As soon as the cold air hit my face, I sighed in relief, grateful that my best friend had pulled me away from the situation.
"Thanks Dinah, that was, intense" I stated, grateful that my best friend saved me a few seconds ago.
"No problem, but you shouldn't need saving from your 'girlfriend'" she joked and I rolled my eyes.
"Good one Dinah, I'm guessing that'll be the first of many" I mocked.
"You ain't seen nothing yet girl"
