Chapter thirty two

Lauren's POV

It was 6:45, 15 minutes before I was due to pick Camila up from her house and take her for the date I planned. Although Camila proposed the idea of a date, I was determined to be the one to organise it, wanting to make up for lost time. I'd spent the whole day preparing, wanting everything to be absolutely perfect. I wasn't normally good at this sort of thing, I'd never needed to be in the past but I wanted to give it a go for Camila. I hoped that the night I had planned would show her that I was completely serious about her, that I was ready this time. I didn't know why I was so nervous,  I didn't spend 9 months living with this girl just for me to be trembling on her door step a few months on. I pulled myself together before knocking on the front door I'd become so familiar with over the last year.

"Hey sweetheart, how are you?" Sinu spoke as she answered the door, wrapping her arms around me.

"I'm good thanks Sinu, how are you?" I returned, offering her a soft smile.

"I'm good mija, come wait in here, Camila shouldn't be a minute" she smiled, welcoming me in.

"Hey Lauren, its good to see you" Alejandro greeted me as I walked in.

"You too Alejandro" I spoke as we completed our handshake we'd come up with a few weeks into my stay. I made small talk with the Cabello's whilst mindlessly stroking Leo until I saw Camila appear behind me.

"Hey, you ready?" She spoke and I opened my mouth to reply but was completely speechless. She was wearing a white off the shoulder top, some white high wasted jeans and a pair of cream heals. Her hair was in neat curls that fell down the side of her face perfectly. I could see she had applied light makeup, highlighting her already perfect features and I couldn't see myself ever looking away.

"Lauren, my eyes are up here" Camila laughed lightly and I swallowed hard before attempting to articulate a sentence.

"Right yeah, I'm ready" I spoke, noticing both Sinu's and Alejandro's eyes on the two of us, watching the exchange.

"Don't be back too late ok, where are you staying tonight Lauren?" Alejandro spoke and I frowned, realising I hadn't thought that far ahead. 

"I guess I didn't think that far, I could just drive back to London when we get back" I smiled.

"Don't be silly, you've always got a home here Lauren, you can stay with us" Sinu offered and I smiled at the older woman's kindness.

"Thankyou, I'll see you both later" I smiled before heading out of the door with Camila. I hadn't really thought about how I was meant to act, whether there were any boundaries in terms of hugging or holding hands so I figured I'd just wing it. When we reached the car, I made sure to hold the door open for Camila whilst she climbed inside, trying my best to avoid checking her out as I did so. Camila thanked me before I headed round to get in the drivers side.

"One direction? Wow you really are trying to impress me" she smirked at my choice of playlist. I figured if I was going to make this a night to remember, I best start it with Camila's unhealthy obsession.

"Yeah" I replied, sounding as nervous as I was. Normally, i was pretty carefree around girls but Camila was different, she actually mattered. I was worried that I'd slip up and end up losing her for good and even the thought of that scared the shit out of me.
