Chapter 6: So You're Not Single?

[TWO WEEKS LATER]

“Pretty please?” Louis begged. “Come on!”

“No,” Autumn said crossing her arms over her chest. “I’m not doing it.”

“But Jordan and Jericho let Harry and Niall introduce them on a live chat.”

“Well, I’m not like Jordan or Jericho. I prefer to stay behind the scenes like Alexa.” Louis rolled his eyes. Despite having been on several dates with him and being photographed several times, Autumn still resisted having Louis identify her to the press. Everyone knew that she was Harry’s stepsister, but no one knew that they were a couple. At least he hoped they were a couple. Autumn refused to commit to anything.

“Alexa is a special case and you know it.” Autumn placed a finger over her lips indicating that Louis should shut up. Despite her promise to Lex she had told Louis how they had really met all those years ago. Lou had wanted to go straight to Liam, but she had stopped him. Alexa had to be the one to tell Liam what was going on. Louis sighed. “Jordan and Jericho will be there too so you’ll have backup.”

“Lou, come on! We were supposed to start the chat five minutes ago,” Harry said peeking his head into the kitchen of their shared flat. “Is Autumn going to do it or not?”

“I guess not,” Louis said sadly as he walked out of the room. Autumn stood off to one side as the boys sat down in front of the camera preparing for the live chat. Jordan was squeezed onto Harry’s lap while next to them Jericho sat against Niall’s legs as he perched on the top of the couch. About a week ago both Harry and Niall had introduced the world to their girlfriends during a live chat.

Liam stood behind the couch by himself for now. Because of her past and incredible shyness Alexa was a secret from everyone except for them. She was currently at her job. She had moved in with the girls, but still insisted on paying Autumn rent. Currently, Autumn was stocking it away into a savings account for her future. She didn’t need the money anyways. Except for when she was at work Liam had her by his side as much as possible. He was always sneaking her in the back doors of venues so they could spend time together.

“Dragon lady, are you sure?” Zayn called out to her. She smiled softly. She and Zayn had grown close, but they still fought all the time. He called her dragon lady every chance he got.

“No thanks,” she said. “And don’t call me dragon lady.”

“They’re going to ask about you. They always want to know why Lou is spending less time with Harry.”  Autumn looked over at Louis who was intensely focused on the camera in front of him. She knew he was mad that she didn’t want to tell everyone that he was her boyfriend. She was just afraid that once she made it official she might lose him. Who knew how long her mother’s last name would be Styles?

“Let’s get this started lads,” Louis said continuing to ignore her. He pressed the button to start the camera and pulled the computer closer. “Welcome to the One Direction Live Chat! I’m Louis, your favorite! And here are the other guys!” Autumn snickered as Zayn moved over and sat on Louis’ lap.

“I’m Zayn!” he said with a wink.

“I’m Liam,” Liam said leaning over the couch.

“This is Niall!” Jericho said pointing behind her.
