Chapter 1: Welcome Back

[Silver's POV]

"Silv! What's taking her so long? I can't stand waiting anymore!" Gold whined, riding his skateboard in circles for the past hour already. It's getting on my nerves.

"Get a grip will you? Skylar will be here soon." I scolded him, sitting down on a nearby bench.

"But I miss Sky already! And I want to buy a Casteliacone already!"

"I said wait. You should have eaten lunch earlier."

"But I'm really hungry! Please, Silver? Just a small cone?"

"Whatever, but I'm telling her that you didn't wait for her."

"No! I'll wait I'll wait I'll wait alright! Just don't go telling me on her!" he said and sat down beside me. "SKYLAR!" Gold stood up and ran ahead, tackling her to the ground. I followed him immediately. He better not get too close to her.

"Hiya Gold!" Skylar said. "I missed you so much, Sky!" Gold said.

"Mind getting off her? You two are going to attract attention." I told the two of them.

"C'mon Silv, drop the sarcasm, it's been a whole month since we've last saw her and that's how you speak?" Gold asked, helping Skylar up.

"Tch!"

Skylar threw her arms around me, smiling. "Hiya Silver!" Her hair was in a single fishbone braid which had gotten longer, and instead of her usual hooded vest it was replaced by a green hoodie. Other than that, she looked pretty much the same.

I hugged her back. "Hey, back from your vacation already?"

"Yeah, that was a long eight months without you!" Gold said, pulling her away from me then dragged her away. "Ice cream time!"

"Hey! Wait for me!" I yelled, trying to catch up with them.

We sat on the edge of Prime Pier, while Typholosion, Lace and Feraligatr were on Unity Pier. Skylar once told me that Lace considered the two as her "bros".

It's just like every month, but this time a change of flavors, and a different location. I had pistachio ice cream and Gold got tropical bubblegum. Skylar still stuck to cookies n' cream.

"Is it true, Skylar? You're really back from your vacation?" Gold asked.

She nodded. "Yup."

His face lit up. "That's great! I missed you so much you know! Now I can spend more time with you!"

"Ehem," I cleared my throat. "I'm still here, you know."

"Course you are." Skylar smiled.

"Yeah Silv, don't be such a prat." Gold said. Skylar shot a glare at him. "I was just kidding! Jeez Sky, don't give me that death glare!" he said.

Skylar stopped glaring, her face filled with satisfaction. She looked out at the ocean, licking her ice cream. It's not even sunset yet, still half an hour away.

"So, Skylar............ Where exactly did you take your vacation?" I asked.

"I went a little sight-seeing. Orre, Kalos, wherever else . Just to get some relaxation."

"Anything interesting challengers who battled you?" Gold asked.

"Well, there were some. But I rejected then all anyway. It was a vacation, not a training session."

Ring...! Ring....! Ring....!

"Oh wait I have to take this. It's Crys, it'll only take a minute or two." Gold stood up, holding up his Pokégear. He went away to a distance where could talk with Crys privately.
