Pokémon: Rough Water (Sequel to Finding Red)

Chapter 19

Recap:
Skylar goes on a date with Gold at a café, where a jealous waitress unexpectedly insults her. After Skylar made a complaint and got the waitress suspended, the waitress continues to throw insults at her. Unable to control her emotions, Skylar unleashes her anger by brutally ending the life of the unfortunate waitress.

[Skylar's POV]
It took only a few steps out of the restroom when I realized that I couldn't just leave yet. By touching the woman's throat and make-up bag, I had left my DNA on it, making it possible for the police to pinpoint me as her killer. Unfortunately for me, my fingerprints are recorded in the Pokemon Center database. It was required for trainers to sign a waiver (with needed thumbmarks for affirmation) when their Pokemon needed to undergo critical procedures such as a surgery. Maybe I could enlist Lack-Two's help in getting my records erased, but I doubt that he would help me for this situation.

I have very limited options right now, and I know I need to make a decision quickly. I can't tell Gold because he will obviously freak out. Lack-Two is certainly out of equation, and although Red has once seen me become uncontrollably violent, I don't think he'll let this matter slide off that easily. There's only one person who can get me out of this mess, and as much as I didn't want to interact with this person after what happened to Red, I really didn't have much of a choice.

I took out my Pokegear and dialled a particular number, silently praying to Arceus that this person would respond right away. Please pick up.... Please, please, please...

"Hello, little sis." Genesis replied, sounding oddly cheerful. "What's up?"

"I need your help I accidentally did something— well not exactly accidentally but I messed up and I don't know what else to do I don't know what I should do help me," I frantically sputtered. "Please."

Hearing footsteps approaching, I held my breath as a lady and her Emolga passed by me, entering the restroom. Please don't enter the farthest cubicle, I prayed.

"You really expect me to help you after beating me up?" Genesis scoffed. "You're got some nerve, Roxxeen."

"Well you initiated the first hit—"

"Are you sure, Miss Roxxeen? How sure are you?" I hate it whenever he calls me "Miss Roxxeen". He always says it in a ridiculous high-pitched voice in an effort to taunt me.

As confident as he sounds, I really don't think Red would strike first outside of a Pokemon battle. Especially not in a fistfight. "Look, I'm really sorry—"

"Fine, I'll take care of your mess." Genesis said with a sigh. "But this is the LAST TIME, Roxxeen. You can't just go around slaughtering anyone as you please, Miss Roxxeen. Anyway, pull yourself together and try not to look suspicious. Don't do anything stupid."

The call ended shortly afterwards. I didn't know how Genesis planned to help me, but I knew I had to trust him. Suddenly a high-pitched sound screeched into the air, interrupting my thoughts of panic. The lady and her Emolga quickly left the restroom. The fire alarm's been set off. Was this how my mentor planned to help me? Still slightly dazed by the recent events, I didn't realize that I was still standing in place (unintentionally wasting moments) while everyone else the cafe were hurriedly leaving.

Gold worriedly appeared in front of me, carrying a take-out bag in one hand. "There you are. Let's get out of here, there's been an emergency. It's okay." He gently took my hand and led me outside of the cafe, where other customers had gathered as well. The Officer Jenny of Unova was standing nearby, speaking into a walkie-talkie. Her partner, an elegant Swanna stood obediently beside her, along with a small flock of Duckletts not far behind them. They seem to be awaiting for orders. Sure enough, there was actually black smoke coming out from one side of the cafe. Whatever Genesis had in mind, I hoped he didn't plan on making any further significant damages.
