[Skylar's POV]

"Skylar... I like you."

Huh? Wait wait? Repeat that again please? He said what? What the hell?!

I didn't know what to say, I didn't know how to react! Should I even spea-of course I should say something! But what! HOLY ARCEUS MESPRIT WHERE ARE YOU WHEN I NEED YOU?

My heart was thumping so wildly, I was afraid that it would run out from my chest and jump out the window. I really didn't expect, I never expected him to say anything like that!

Instead, my other hand moved to his shoulder, so that both of my hands were on his shoulders. I rested my chin on his shoulder with a sigh. His hands moved to my waist, so we were still slow-dancing.

"But Skylar, I do understand if you want to remain friends. I know you didn't expect me to say that anyway." he sadly said.

"You don't mind if we stay like this for a while, right? I mean, until the song ends..."

"I don't mind."

I need time to think. But I didn't tell him, of course.

Come on, Skylar, think. Why me? I'd like to ask him right now, but that would be too cliché... I should be honored, shouldn't I? The champion of the Indigo League likes me.

The song ended soon enough, but I after pulling away from Red I refused to let go of his hand. "Stay with me. Please." I said and he nodded.

We went back to the bar wordlessly. I turned around, trying to distract myself by looking at the cute Pokémon nearby. Even if I wasn't facing Red, I still held his hand tightly.

"There you are, little sister."

I turned to look at Genesis, giving him an annoyed expression.

Red looked at me, confused. "Little sister?"

I glared at Genesis. Doesn't the idiot recognize who I was with?

"Yes, we're siblings. Siblings by blood compact." Genesis casually replied.

Red raised an eyebrow at me, as if to say, Seriously?

I know, Red, I know. No one does "blood compact" anymore.

"You must be Red, the famous champion of the Indigo League." Genesis continued, looking at our hands.

"I am." Red replied, coldly.

"Now I am sorry to interrupt, but I need to talk to my little sister." Genesis said, grabbing my other hand then pulled me away. He glared at Red, then whispered something to him.

"Genesis, let's go." I rolled my eyes. He really had to ruin the moment, didn't he? I wanted to stay with Red. But let's not forget the real reason why we came to this party.

"Did you drink anything? Anything at all?" he asked me, pushing through the crowd, away from the bar, away from Red.

"No. I don't want to drink." I said, wanting to go back to Red badly.

"Good. Neither did I. Something will happen, at exactly 8:30 PM. Don't drink anything."

"And what time is it?"

"8:26."

"Good, because I need to take a break. Where's the comfort room?" I asked him.

"Turn left when you go out, it's at the end of the hallway. Be back at 8:29." he told me, letting go of my hand.
