[Silver's POV]

I can't believe Skylar tricked both of us. Good thing the others aren't here. If Green saw me right I could just die of humiliation. If I could see her right now, I bet she would be laughing her head off.

Sure, Green's a great friend, but sometimes she's super annoying. In case you were wondering, we made peace with each during the reunion. Same with Skylar and Blue.

Which reminds me, we're supposed to take her to Aspertia City later.

I didn't expect Skylar to do something like this, but at least it's better than her being in my place right now. Come to think of it, I guess she only did it since she didn't want me to be left out. So I can't exactly be mad at her.

But I'll make sure she deletes the picture anyway. Hey, where did she go? She was just standing beside that tree with our Pokémon a moment ago.

My legs were getting numb from standing, but I don't sit because of the awkwardness.

Gold was staring at his left, a huge look of disappointment on his face. He looked depressed. No matter how annoying he sometimes is, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

"You're........ Hopeless........." I say.

What? It's the truth and he should have known it already.

"This is all your fault." he said coldly. "Skylar likes you a hundred times better than me. That's why she didn't want to go with me."

"Don't be like that Gold, I'm sure she has her reasons." I told him.

"Yeah, and liking you better than me is one of them."

"We're only best friends. She's the closest thing I had for family, of course I care for her. So stop taking everything seriously."

"Hmph."

"She's just seventeen, goddammit Gold! It's not that I don't like you hanging out with her, it's just that you flirt excessively with her when you have a bunch of other girls that you like!"

"You're just her best friend, it doesn't mean you get to choose who she gets to hang out with and who to not. I think you don't deserve to be her best friend. Who stayed by her side when our Pokémon were kidnapped? Me. Who was there to comfort her when she had nightmares? Me. Who was the one who did everything he could to just to see her smile? Me. I should be her best friend, not you. Yet she still won't give me the title. That's because she likes you. But I love her, and you don't. I do stuff to make her happy, and what about you?" Gold said harshly. "What do you have that I don't?"

I was surprised by his sudden outburst. I know he loves my best friend, but............. He has no reason to be jealous of.

A few minutes later, he spoke again. "Sorry 'bout that, man.... I couldn't help it. It's just that I missed her..... Maybe a little bit too much. I admit that I'm jealous, though. Hope you weren't offended or anything..." Gold said, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Yeah, whatever." I said and looked away. Talk about Gold hitting on my best friend. I'm sure he knows that he has competition with Red but that guy hardly shows any emotion at all.

I can't take it anymore- as awkward as it is, I sat down. But maybe I'll think about it. Maybe you can have a ride alone with her, I thought.

After what seemed like forever, we finally got off. Skylar was leaning on a tree nearby, sipping a drink through a straw. Our Pokémon were beside her, eating snacks.

"Very funny thing you did right earlier." Gold said sarcastically, smiling at her. She blinked, then smiled back at him.

"Give me the camera." I said.
