Just A Kiss (Rilaya)

Ladies

Maya's POV:

My phone buzzes on my nightstand. It says:

Riley 💘: Hey peaches...I forgot to tell you something earlier...swipe to see more

I swipe on the message notification and put in my password. The rest of the text says:

Charlie told me that he liked me. How do I break it to him? Oh ps I told Lucas and I think we should tell Farkle today too. Come over? Love ya😘

I smile and type:

On my way ❤️

Ten minutes later I climb in through Riley's window.

"Hey." I say as I sit down.

"Peaches!" Riley says with a huge and adorable smile.

"Did you miss me in the two hours I was gone?" I tease.

"I did," She admits, "I did very much."

"Well then why'd you make me go home and do my homework?" I half yell.

"Because." She says. "You need to start being academically honest. It's getting you ready for high school, where our permanent records are even more permanent."

"Blah blah blah," I say, rolling my eyes, "do you wanna tell Farkle or not?"

"Yes." Riley says. "In fact, he's on his way over right now."

As if on cue, Farkle comes out of nowhere and says, "Ladies," while resting an elbow on the windowsill like he always does in an attempt to look cool.

"Farkle," Riley and I both say in unison.

"So, whad'ya need? I'm a busy man." Farkle says in an even worse "cool" voice.

"Farkle, this is serious." Riley says.

He climbs in the rest of the way into Riley's bedroom and sits in the Bay Window. He plants his hands on his legs as if to signal that he's ready for news.

"Riley and I..." I start to say,

"Have feelings for each other." Farkle finishes.

My jaw drops at the same time as Riley's.

"How did you know that?" Riley asks in confusion. 

"I could tell by the way you two look at each other, and how Maya reacted when I told her that I saw Riley and Lucas kiss."

"Oh, yeah, by the way," I say. Instead of finishing my sentence I jump towards Farkle angrily and Riley manages to hold me back as Farkle shrinks back to the wall.

"What?" He yells.

"You really need to check your facts before you go around telling people the false truth!" I yell back.

"What do you mean?" He says.

"What I mean, is that Riley didn't kiss Lucas willingly! She pulled away, and the only reason she didn't tell me is because she didn't want me to get hurt!"

"Hey," Farkle says, "I just told what I saw. Sorry."

Before I can yell at him again Riley says, "Apology accepted." With a smile. "Now I don't think I can hold Maya back much longer, so if I were you I would-"

"Run!" I yell.

Farkle climbs out the window as fast as a Farkle can just as Riley loses her grip on me.

"Yeah, that's right!" I yell out the window. "Run away!"

"Okay," Riley says, "enough of that." She pulls me back inside.

I take a few deep breaths in and out to calm myself down.

"Now the hard part." Riley says.

"What?" I ask.

"We need to tell my parents."
