Warning - Heartbreak, Angst (don't worry this will be quite tame for an angst)

Third Person

Simon loved him. He really did.

His smile lit up the world around him, his laugh brought colour to illuminate within his periphery, his words made a sweet melody that played all the right notes to make his mind forget any insecurities or any anxiety he was harbouring at the time. that's all he needed to do to make Simon literally putty in his hands. Simon himself was at a loss for words in regards to how utterly pathetic he felt and became within his presence, yet he was addicted to the way he made him feel. His emotions became so contradictory, that it almost drove him insane. Even distancing himself nd trying to find any excuse to hate him ever worked. he always knew how to act. Always. It was only after a long period of time did Simon finally realise it was love.

It wasn't just some sudden feeling that awakened within him so suddenly, no it's always lingered. The only thing is that it always just lingered in the deepest and most obscure place within his mind. Yet gradually, those emotions were emerging from the shadows, engulfing who his was and known to be and morphing Simon into the charity case he felt he was. Of course, no one knew, why would anyone know? Simon may be breaking down on the inside, but he sure does know how to wear a poker face. in fact, his mask never cracks - not even for a second. The internal warfare within his psyche never surfaces. That's why he never knows.

The carefree innocent boy lives his life to the fullest. Not weighed down by obligation or requirements. He's free from any chains and is a bird that cannot be tamed. That free spirit goes whatever te direction of the wind takes him, but boy does he make the most of any opportunity. You would never see that boy down, maybe due to his naive youth. Nevertheless, he's always wearing a smile - and that smile is genuine. Simon should know, he's the master of the fake smile.

He tries his best to disassociate himself with the energetic ball of ecstasy - calling him the "irrelivent sidemen" whenever possible and always makes fun of something in a teasing way. That way he could distract himself from the truth. and maybe he can even deceive himself and truly believe he is "irrelevant" to Simon. It doesn't work of course; it never will. Why would it, he's the master of deceiving people but the master of deceiving people can't be deceived so easily.

You might be wondering why. Why doesn't Simon be honest with him and tell him his feelings. Well, there's no point when it is evident that the boy doesn't feel the same way. That may not be clear to others and even Simon who can read people like a book was not 100% sure if his hunch was right. Until that day.

That same boy who Simon became infatuated with and somewhat obsessed came to speak to him confidentially. Simon was surprised and had a million thoughts in his mind to prepare him for what this kid might have to say to him. But Simon would never be able to prepare his fragile heart from the massacre he faced. That boy told him straight up, " Simon, I can only trust you out of everyone here to say this to you since you're my best friend but... I fell in love with Vik and I don't know how to confess. Please help me!"

Of course, he would prefer the small asian over himself. Vik was so dedicated: scrap that he is so dedicated. His hard-working and caring nature is to be desired by all. Plus he has the kindness and sensitivity to support, making him the most reliable lover one may wish for. And he fell for that. Of course, Simon knew, he knew from the beginning. But his reckless hope caused him to avert his gaze from the truth as he pretended to turn a blind eye. He knew it since the beginning. Yet why does it still hurt?

A month after from that traumatic event, they ended up together. Simon helped him to confess of course. It was better to let the one you love to be happy with someone he loves than be selfish and hurt them both. especially since he knew that this love was mutual. That was the kindest thing to do. Once again, the mask never came off and the tears that wanted to pour out into a waterfall never was shed once. Everything remains internal, only for Simon to know.

The confliction, The denial, The realisation, The torment, The deceit, The heartbreak. It's only for Simon to know and it will always be that way. Those two are happy together. Simon just needs to live through the anguish, and maybe one day he will meet his prince charming to sweep him off his feet. Ok maybe not. But he can always keep dreaming, dreaming of true love that he has never experienced before as he carries on with his love scars. After all, he knew that his first love would never be. Of course, he knew it will never be from the beginning. He just wanted to be wrong for once. But of course, he was right.

And now he moves forward alone in the darkness.

A/N- I'm sorry this is shorter and a bit rushed but I just didn't know what else to write- allow me I'm rusty. Sorry if the title spoiled the story for you, but I always put the ship/ships down so if people don't ship it, they don't have to read. If you have any suggestions, please just comment and I will write it and tag you. Thank you all for reading and see you in the next chpter :)
