Problems With Love

Chapter 3

Kristen's POV 

Once Kris was done eating, we left for his practice. I ran out ti the garage and climbed in the passenger seat. Kris of course drove. He never let me drive his car. Ugh.... whatever.

As soon as the car turned on, i reached over and turned the radio on. Royals by Lorde was playing. I groaned. "What's your problem? This is a good song!" Kris said. "Well I don't really like it." I tell him. He laughed. "What?" i ask. "Nothing," he says. Then the song The Phoenix by Fall Out Boy came On. I turned the volume up a little bit and started singing ti the lyrics.

 You are a brick tied to me that's dragging me down. Strike a match and I'll burn you to the ground. We are the jack-o-lanterns in July, setting fire to the sky, here here comes the rising tide. So come on! 

I heard Kris starting to sing a little bit, so quietly I couldn't here. I started laughing. His face started turning red. "You heard that huh?" he asks. "Every word!" I laugh. Then my phone buzzes. I look down at my white iPhone 4 to see i have a new message. It's from Brandon Saad. I smile. I have a major crush on him.  

FROM BRANDON: Hey:) 

FROM KRISTEN: Hey:)

FROM BRANDON: Are you coming to practice with your bother today?:)

FROM KRISTEN: Yes I am:)

FROM BRANDON: Cool:) Are you busy afterward?

FROM KRISTEN: Nope:)

FROM BRANDON: Then do you maybe wanna do something after, like grab some lunch?

FROM KRISTEN: Sure!!! I'd love to:)

FROM BRANDON: OK great! Meet me outside the locker room after practice then:)

FROM KRISTEN: OK will do:) could you just tell my brother what we're doing so he doesn't flip out at me?

FROM BRANDON: Sure:) I'll see ya later:)

FROM KRISTEN: See ya:)

OMG i'm going out to lunch with Brandon Saad!!! I've liked him ever since we came back to Chicago! This is amazing!

Kris's POV

I could tell something was up with Kristen. She'd been smiling for the last 5 minutes. It had to be with who ever she was texting. I bet Brandon asked her out. It was totally obvious she liked him. Basically the whole team knew, well except for Brandon. We all knew he liked her too. HE told Shawzy, who told the whole team. It was at dinner before an away game a couple months ago. He announced it too. Brandon's face had turned bright red. I told him that Kristen and hi could date, because I know he's a good guy and I trust him. Kristen doesn't know that though. She still thinks I'm over protective after what happened with Jared and a teammate in Florida. 

Brandon's POV

I was headed to practice when I decided to ask Kristen to go out to lunch with me after practice. I really like her and the guys say she likes me but I'm not sure if I should believe them. I think she kinda does  though. Every time we talk she always smiles at me. Even if we make eye contact she smiles. I texted as soon as I got to the UC. 

She said yes!! She actually said yes! I just had to tell her brother, which was a little nerve racking.  

I must've had a big smile on my face, cuz Shawzy asked me what was up. "Oh i asked Kristen out ti lunch after practice and she said yes!"  I practically yelled. "Nice!! Congrats dude!" Shawzy said to me. I was so excited. I couldn't wait for practice to end!
