Kristen's POV
"Are you crazy?!" Kris practically screams. I stand there silent. Honestly I'm thinking the same thing. "Kristen are you sure? You don't have to come," Brandon says putting his hand on my back. I take a deep breath. "I'm sure," I say. Brandon and Kris exchange looks. "Ok well let's go," he says.
We get in Brandon's car and buckle up. Then he turns to me. "Are you sure you wanna do this?" he asks concerned. I nod. Brandon turns the car on and we start the drive to Jared's.
The drive is quiet. I honestly don't know why the hell I'm doing this. I think I've lost my mind. w
We easily find Jared's house. "Ya ready?" Brandon asks. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. "Yeah."
We walk up the the door and ring the doorbell. Jared answers. "Brandon? Kristen? What are you two doing here?" he asks. I look at Brandon hoping he'll explain why we're here. "Well uh we were just wondering if you keep calling Kristen. The number is (312) 865-9221," Brandon says. "Uh yeah that's me," Jared says softly with his head down. "But why? Why would you keep calling me? You really scared me Jared!" I snap. "I...I'm...I'm sorry Kristen. I really didn't mean to. Can we talk sometime?" he asks. I nod. "Uh yeah if you want I guess. What about tomorrow before the game?" I ask cautiously. "We can meet at Starbucks or something." "Ok sounds good," he responds. "We gotta go now. My brother texted me and is freaking out. Bye," I say turning on my heels.
When we get back to the car I slump down in my seat. "What the hell is wrong with me?" I say burying my face into my hands. "Well I think it's good that your gonna talk to him and listen to him and hear what he has to say," Brandon says with a sad tone in his voice. "What's wrong?" I ask looking at him and placing a hand on his arm. "Well back in Pittsburg when I was in high school there was a girl I dated. I really really liked her. Her name was Amber. One day at lunch I was tripped by these guys that always bullied me because I played hockey and not football like them and accidentally spilled my lunch on her. Of course with my luck I was having soup and it burned her pretty bad and she never talked to me again. I tried talking to her and apologizing but nothing worked." "Well you're too good for her anyway," I say. We start driving back to my house. Then I asked, "You were bullied?" Brandon's quiet for a minute. "Yeah." "Well do you wanna talk about it?" I ask. "Yeah but not right now.
We get back to the house and pull in the driveway. "Hey I'm gonna go home and get some sleep. It's already 10:30 and we have a game tomorrow. Goodnight. I love you," Brandon says. I smile. "I love you too."
