I woke up and turned on my side cuddling against the warm body next to me. I love waking up next to someone warm. It makes my whole day better. Wes's arms tightened around my waist pulling me closer into his chest.
"You smell sooooo good!" I drawled out against his chest. He smelled mostly like cologne and the ocean.
Wes chuckled. "It's after ten, we should get up." He said softly tracing a pattern on my arm with his finger.
"You know what I really want?" I asked sitting up and stretching.
"No tell me what you really want." He said.
"I'll tell ya what I want, what I really really want." I sang making us both laugh. "Seriously though, I really want s'mores." I said once we calmed down.
"I have a fire place." He said. "If we get up I'll make a fire and we can make s'mores."
"Yes please." I nodded and stood up off the bed and he got up and pulled a shirt on.
Wes made a fire in the fireplace and I got crackers marshmallows and chocolate out of his cabinets. He got a wire clothes hanger from his closet and straightened it out so we could use it as a marshmallow stick. Then we sat on the floor together in front of the fire roasting marshmallows.
"Yo Wes the waves are sick today if you wanna come to the," Keaton said coming inside but he trailed off when he saw us sitting on the floor making s'mores. "Are you roasting marshmallows inside at eleven in the morning?" He laughed.
"Yeah do you want a s'more?" I asked holding up the one that I'd assembled in my lap.
"Thanks!" Keaton took it and looked at Wes. "I like her. She makes you more fun."
"Yeah, I might just keep her around." Wes teased as he handed me the s'more he'd made.
After we finished our little fire Wes took me back to my apartment. He kissed me goodbye and I went inside. I got into the apartment and looked around for Shayla, but to my luck she was at work. It was one thirty now though so I decided I'd take a shower and she'd be home when I get done.
I was right. Once I got out of the shower I heard her come in the front door. I got dressed and did my hair then went to meet her in the living room on the couch. "Hey Shay!" I smiled brightly.
"Hey, how was the sleepover?" She doesn't miss a beat this girl.
"I had fun. We made s'mores in his fireplace this morning." I said trying not to gush about how amazing and romantic Wes can be.
"Well isn't that cute." She smiled. "I'm glad you had fun."
"Me too." I laughed.
"You know what today is right?" She asked.
"No?" I shook my head.
She sighed. "Brianna, I know you like Wes and I'm only telling you this so you don't get hurt. Today's the twenty third, and Carly will be coming home for the summer."
"Shayla, I'm a big girl, and though I'm not denying I like Wes I don't think Carly is a problem." I said hoping I was right.
"Okay." She said softly. "What's for dinner tonight?"
"I was thinking we could make that barbecue chicken pizza thing." I suggested.
"Sounds good. Lets do it now because I'm starving." She said jumping up.
As the day went on I tried not to worry about Carly coming home. I mean after all Wes asked me to be his girlfriend. He wouldn't have done that if he wasn't over her. She has no effect on our relationship, and plus she has a boyfriend. My phone dinged and I looked to see what it was.
It was a comment on Wes's Instagram picture of me. I wouldn't have even thought anything of it if I hadn't seen who made the comment, because so many of his fans had commented. This was from Carly though, and all it said was, "Not as hot as you do ;)" and I think I almost threw my phone.
The next day Shayla and I were walking through the door to Wes's apartment to meet the boys so we could head to head to the beach. I didn't knock because he never does. They were all ready to go and sitting on the couch.
"To the beach!" Keaton yelled jumping up.
We all laughed and followed after him to the car. I hung back so the others were ahead of me and Wes. He leaned down and whispered in my ear giving me shivers. "Shayla's going to know something's up if you keep checking me out."
"I am not." I mumbled almost inaudibly.
"Oh, that must've been me checking you out then." He chuckled and slid his arm around my waist as we walked out the doors of the building.
"Come on love birds!" Drew teased from the car.
I giggled and stepped out of Wes's reach and we raced to the car like the kids we truly are. He beat me of course, but it was still fun. We rode to the beach with the radio blaring. Drew sat shotgun leaving me Wes and Keats in the back. Wes played with my hair as he sang along to the radio and Keaton was busy texting his girlfriend.
Once we got to the beach Drew Keaton and Shayla ran off to the water. Wes hung back with me as I threw my towel out. He sat in the sand behind me and put tanning lotion on my back. "Thank you baby." I said leaning back against his chest.
"I like the sound of that." Ha said wrapping his arms around my bare stomach.
"And I was like baby, baby, baby, ohhh, I!" I sang making him shake with laughter.
"Lets go swim with the others." He said standing up and pulling me with him.
We went in the water and messed around for awhile then I got hungry. Keaton said he'd go get food with me so we made our way to the boardwalk together. We joked around and got our food and started walking back.
"Brianna if I say something promise you won't tell Wes?" He asked.
"Sure Keaton." I nodded.
"Wes really likes you. I mean, like really likes you. I've never seen him so happy with someone. I guess what I'm trying to say, is just, please don't hurt him." He stammered.
I never thought of me being able to hurt him. If anything I thought he'd hurt me, not the other way around. "I'd never hurt him Keaton." I gave him a reassuring smiled and kept walking.
Our beach day got cut short when it started raining. We took the boys home and not long after we left Wes texted me saying he wanted me to come over tomorrow just to hang out, because we didn't get any alone time. I agreed and told him I'd be over at one. Keaton's words hung in my head though, I'd never hurt Wes, and I hope he'd never hurt me.
