“Are you kidding me? Lions are literally the ‘king of the jungle’. They obviously earned that right.” I said, obviously heated by this very serious topic. It was about 3 in the afternoon and we were walking down the city park. We had spent about 3 hours at the diner eating copious amounts of food, and we spent the majority of our afternoon driving around to places just so we could walk in different sceneries. It was all just a huge waste of time, but it didn’t feel like it with Thomas. I did call my mom at around noon though, telling her I took the bus to the mall. She wasn’t very happy, but she was glad I took the initiative to leave the house.

“True, but have you ever seen a tiger attack its prey?” Thomas fought back.

“No, but I have seen one fight Winnie-The-Pooh for a jar of honey.” I retorted.

“Fair enough,” he said before picking up a ball of snow and throwing it at me.

“Hey! Don’t be bitter because I was right.” I winked. I picked up a snow ball myself and tossed it pathetically at his direction.

“That was terrible,” Thomas noted.

“Thank you for pointing out the obvious, whatever would I do without your vast knowledge?” I teased.

“Probably die a horrific death,”

“That’s a little melodramatic,” I picked up some snow and chucked it at his crotch.

“Fuck!” Thomas yelled before bending over.

“Shit! I’m so sorry!” I gasped, pretending like I hadn’t meant to hurt him.

“Oh man, it hurts really bad,” Thomas groaned.

“Is there anything I can do?” I placed a careful hand on his back.

“You could massage it,” he said suggestively before he straightened out his back

“You’re disgusting,” I shook my head.

“Maybe,” Thomas whispered in my ear as he wrapped his arms around my waist. I found myself closing my eyes and anticipated the feeling of his lips on mine. But instead I felt my body hit something soft as he pulled me to the ground on top of him.

“What are you doing?” I laughed.

“I don’t know,” Thomas said before he flipped me onto my back.

“Thomas,” I warned. “The ground is very cold.”

“Maybe I could warm you up,” Thomas said as he moved for my neck. He flipped the hair away and unzipped my jacket slightly. He kissed it slowly and warm spread throughout my body.

“Yes, now my front is warm,” I mumbled. “But alas my back is still pressed against what feels like an ice block.”

“You know how to ruin a romantic moment,” Thomas groaned.

“No I know how to solve an uncomfortable situation,” I countered. He got up and offered me his hand. I took at and before I knew it his fingers were laced in between mine.

“Fine,” he frowned.

“Let’s go to your car, I’m cold now.” I begged.

“Okay,” he winked suggestively.

“Jesus Thomas,” I rolled my eyes, trying to hold back a smile.

“Stop doing that,” Thomas said.

“Doing what?” I asked, getting a little self-conscious.

“Hiding your smile,” Thomas told me. He turned me around to face him. He raised his hand to my face and tilted my chin upward. “I love your smile, it’s beautiful. You need to show it off more.”
