Authors note: so sorry for late update I've been really busy so so sorry!
Elizabeth Baker's POV:
"So what's your deal?"
"My deal?" I respond to Zach uninterestedly. I'm sat on my window sill reading my book, I was very peaceful before he came. But now I'm getting investigated by him, what a great Saturday morning.
"Yeah your deal, you don't date anyone?" He enquires further.
"I'm positive I've told you this before." I muse solemnly at him, I turn the page of my Steven King book and out of the corner of my right eye I see Zach furrowing his eyebrows.
"Yeah...but-"
"But what? I've explained this to you before, I know what guys are like and I don't fancy having my heart broken." I snap at him, there's an eery silence between us, the only sounds are the pages from my book and the rustling of the trees in the autumn wind. There trees are losing their leaves now and it's going to be October tomorrow, meaning I'm going to be able to start wearing my hoodies to school again.
"How do you know if a guy will break your heart?" He questions me, after a long silence.
"Because most guys at our age aren't exactly hopeless romantics." I answer dryly, still reading my book, watching him subtly from the corner of my eye.
"How can you be so sure?" He cocks an eyebrow at me as I finally look up at him from my book and begin chuckling.
"Can you tell me that you are a hopeless romantic when you had sex with Jessica the first day you got here?" I raise both my eyebrows at him, challenging him.
"You said so yourself, I needed it out of my system." He answers plainly.
"Right, so if I took off my top right now and was sat here in my bra and joggers. You would simply avert your eyes and tell me to put clothes on because you couldn't bare the thought of seeing me half naked without consent?" I look at him, an evil grin appearing on my face as I see a light tinge of pink in his cheeks. "Exactly what I thought." I finish and turn back to my book.
"Wait, so you're not gonna take your top off?" He smirks at me, so I grab the top of my window and lean over, smacking him on the shoulder with my book. I then resume my position if nothing had happened, watching him rub his arm and laughing.
"Dirty bastard." I mutter under my breathe, letting out a small laugh.
"I heard that. But look, kitten let me take you out and prove I'm not a huge dick." He pleads me, I roll my eyes.
"No Graye. No." I answer back firmly.
"Why not? Not even for a date, just spend an hour of your time with me?" I just shake my head in response to him and carry in reading. I will not go on a date with someone who has already got the reputation of the biggest player in school. Just because he looks nice doesn't mean he is nice. "I can be nice kitten." I hear him chuckle and I can feel his grin boring into my face. I slap my hand over my mouth.
"Shit!" I can't believe I just said that aloud. Oh my god I'm going to regret that forever.
"You think I'm hot?" He wiggles his eyebrows at me and I just pinch the bridge of my nose and throw my book onto my bed, clearly I won't get very far with it.
"I believe I said you look nice, not hot." I recorded as calmly as I could, praying that I wouldn't start blushing.
"I'll take it as you think I'm good looking though." He winks at me and I just roll my eyes at him.
