Up above is a photo of a new character called Dylan....who i belive to be Cole Sprouse!
Elizabeth Baker's POV:
It's been three weeks since Zach stayed the night. We haven't talked much since, which I am more than happy about. I left early in the morning after that night, I needed to get to New York and my mum woke me up as early as possible for the audition. I went through 4 audition stages and I somehow got the main part, I still To this day don't feel I deserve it. I've done broadway before, but I was in the chorus, I've never even had a speaking role before...But at least the 8 shows a week won't be too much of a shock to the system. But I was so happy, I told Charlie right away, she was, as best friends usually are, ecstatic for me and so we all went out for dinner with my mum. We did phone my brother to tell him the news, he wanted to fly over, but he couldn't make it because of work. He will come at some point, he always does. I have rehearsals three times a week and have already made great friends with the cast and crew. It's the stage production of Pitch Perfect, on Broadway...I mean why wouldn't I do it? I'm Beca, a boy called Dylan is playing Jesse, we are already very good friends and he's supposed to come over this weekend to rehearse. We decided it was easier to practise at my house, despite Tom...I have the bigger garden. But that's two days away, it's Thursday now and Charlie won't stop going on about my birthday.
"So I was thinking, big party at my house and inviting everyone in the year-"she began.
"I don't want a huge party Charlie, I'm only turning 17." I grumble as she takes the turning towards my house.
"Yeah, yeah and if I don't throw you a huge party how sad will you be huh?" She looks at me for a second before eyes flick back towards the road.
"I wouldn't be, I don't really want a party seeing as what happened at the last one..." I muse, running my fingers over my knuckles. You can't see anything on them anymore, they throb every now and again, but I just get on with it. What's the point in lingering over an incident, it won't ever change it.
"Liz, it will only be friends! You have hundreds!" She jolts my shoulder slightly in excitement.
"No I don't, hundreds of people know me and I know them but it doesn't mean that I am friends with them!" I open the door to get out and as I hop out Charlie runs up behind me.
"PLEASE! Please let me throw you a party!" She is pleading me as I reach and fumble for the door keys.
"FINE! Fine only if you stop whining! And on the condition that you arrange it with my mum and she approves of every action!" I raise my eyebrows at her as she salutes me.
"Sir yes sir!" She lowers her hand as we stumble through the door cackling, I do sometimes wonder what I'd do without Charlie, she is my closest friend I've ever had and she has always been there for me. I've never needed anyone else and I always think of myself as a very independent person except when it comes to her, I rely on her for practically everything and she is the same with me.
"Ladies, quick get in!" My train of thought is interrupted as my mother shoos is into the living room and slams us on the sofa. "Now, Elizabeth, Liz, Darling girl, Bubba, My Daughter, Tim will be late for singing at the bar tonight...and I was wondering..." Tim is a the piano player my mum hired to play for the pub in the evenings and he occasionally is late...like for instance now.
"Yes fine okay I'll do it." I don't let her finish because she's asked me this a million times.
"Oh thank you thank you thank you!" She showers my cheeks in kisses as I attempt to push her away.
"Mum! Please! On the one condition that my friends can come and have uno drink?" I bargain with her with my eyes slightly winced, anticipating a no. I hear a sigh as her head nods in agreement.
"One drink! Very much diluted, possibly not even alcoholic! Look you can have one shandy each okay? And no more!" She huffs and folds her arms, marches into the kitchen as Charlie and I explode into giggles.
"How long do you need me for?" I call to her, hopefully it will only be for a couple of songs. She only needs me to fill in before he gets there, he's only ever 15 minutes late but mum always says that's 15 minutes in which people can leave through the door.
"The usual amount, 10-15 minutes sweetheart! From 6!" I hear her padding upstairs and her door closes as Charlie once again explodes in giggles.
"I'm going to go and get ready! Casual as usual, but sexy because...well just because! Shall I bring the boys or?" She raises an eyebrow at me.
"Oh go on then, what's the harm. I'll let Zach know, he will be pissed if he gets left out of a free drink most likely." I sigh as I heave myself off the sofa, hauling my way to the stairs.
"Fair point, I'll see you there then!" She squeals as she exits my house in the most Charlie way possible, leaving the door open...as per usual. I trudge to the door and slam it shut before crawling to my room. Look, I like performing, but on a Thursday night in a pub it's not that fun, especially when I have barely anytime to prepare. And inviting Zach...well that'd be even more nerve racking. Not because I want to impress him, but it would be yet another thing I can be teased about. But I wouldn't hear the end of it if I didn't invite him, so I might as well just get on with it right?
I heave the window open and see Zach, lying face down in his phone on his bed. His window's shut, fantastic. I begin throwing small rocks and twigs at his window, Jesus Christ could this be more cliché? He still doesn't turn around, he's deaf I swear, I resort to the only way I can actually gain his attention.
Elizabeth: Open the fucking window.
His head snaps back to view me from his bed, his jaw is unhinged as he gapes at me from the duvet. It's blue and silk, immaculately made and shining under the light from the window. My eyes drift to his desk which is gleaming its so clean, pencils arranged in height order and books neatly stacked on their side. Despite his cocky, sarcastic nature, this boy sure knows how to clean a room. I then look back at my desk to see sheets of paper flying out of draws and pens scattered without lids on and snapped pencils sticking out of my pencil case.
"Liz? Hey?! Liz!" I shake the thought away and find Zach leaning out of his window, clicking in my face.
"Yes, yes I'm awake I'm here. Sorry just went out of it a bit then." I push his hand out of my face and stare at him as he then looks at me as if he's waiting for me to say something. "Oh yes! I wanted to ask you, because you would throw a hissy fit if I didn't, tonight Charlie, me and the boys are all heading off to the pub, do you want to join?" My eyes begin drifting away as I snap them back, awaiting an answer from the boy across from me.
"The pub? Who are you? 30 year old men in a midlife crisis?" He scoffs as he leans back against the wall of his window.
"No, first of all I don't know what pubs you've been to, but the customers don't just consist of men in a midlife crisis. It's my mum's pub and we will be allowed a maximum of ONE drink and ONE drink only! And we're going because I have to fill in for the pianist." He looks at me with a mixture of confusion and excitement, most likely at the idea of a drink.
"Well, I'll have to see what I've got going on, perhaps I'll be busy so I'll let you-" He begins before I cut him off by reaching over and shoving his shoulder. "Okay fine fine! I'm free okay I'll be there to gain my ONE drink and my ONE drink only!" He begins chuckling with a gentle smile spreading across his cheeks.
"6 o'clock, I'll text you the address and I'll meet you there okay!" I say before I start shutting my window.
"Hey! Wait, wait. Is it in town?" He stops me.
"Yeah, not far, literally a ten minute drive, see you then!" I slam the window shut and grab sheets of music before I head downstairs and creak the old piano open to practise. I know I shouldn't, but deep down, I really hope he makes it. Despite him being an utter prat at times, he's still got his heart in the right place and I'm glad that we're friends not enemies. It makes it easier to go about life...
