Jasmine went to check who was knocking on her bedroom door.

It was Annabelle, the cook's daughter who worked as a maid. "Your father instructed me to tell you that dinner is served madam" she said.

"Alright Annabelle I will be there in a split second"Jasmine told her.

"Alright, miss Blake, if you'll excuse me."Annabelle said and turned to leave.

Jasmine met her father already seated at the head of the dining table, and gave him a kiss on the cheek before sitting at his right hand side.

"How are you doing father?" She asked.

"Very well,my little Angel"he replied.

Jasmine smiled, she was still his little angel at age twenty five.

"In fact" he continued"I should be asking you how you are doing"

"Thanks father,I am doing very well also" she replied.

"And your heart?" He asked.

"I'm afraid I have no idea of what you're saying" Jasmine said while she poured herself and her father a glass of red wine.

Her father looked at her carefully like he was searching for a clue or something and then said"I meant, how is your heart after your breakup with Carl?"

He knew! How come? She thought and gasp when she said it out loud "you knew! How come?"

"I live in this house my little angel" her father simply answered.

"I......my heart is fine father"she said.

Her Father was silent, and when he kept staring at her she added "really father, I'm fine, no need to worry."

"Alright my little Angel, if you say so" her father finally said.

The silent that ensued was unbearable that it made her to not feel like eating, looking for something to say she asked "won't you eat father?"

"Of course I will" her father reached for his food and so did she.

The silence continued, and Jasmine really wanted it to stop, she searched her brain for something and suddenly her eyes lit up and she spoke " father I met on of the chefs of Blake's restaurants."

"Hmm really? Why?" Her father warmly questioned.

"Yes today, he wondered why I wasn't eating my enchilada" she answered.

"Hmm,why was he concerned?" Her father asked.

"Says he cares about customers" the reply does seemed to answer the question perfectly.

"Was there any problem with it?"

"No there was no problem with it"

"How was it?"

"Father to be sincere it was amazing. He even treated me to crusty honey-soaked sopapilla that made my tongue dance like a kid. He's good"

"Well, splendid because he will be in charge of the food preparations for next week Friday's party. Don't want anything going wrong."

"Party?" Jasmine questioned looking puzzled.

"Yes party my little Angel"he replied.

"For?"

"Ah! It's a pity recent events has made my little Angel forget her father will clock fifty by next week Friday"

"Oh my goodness! Father! Happy birthday in advance"
