Chapter 23:Torn

Father and son lay on the floor,Jasmine and Albert in the middle. Jasmine was shaking,she was supported by Albert who held her closely. ''No!''she screamed. she switched looks between her father and her brother,who should she attend to?

Just then Fiona,and a man ran to Tony's body and she made for her father along with Albert. Tears were streaming down her face as she sobbed uncontrollably. Crouching on her knees,she shook her father to see if he was still alive,at that moment Carl came and bent placing a finger on her father's neck at the pulse region to check if he's alive or not.

''Is he alive?''Jasmine asked worriedly not minding even a moment about Carl's presence.

''His pulse is weak. We need to get him to the hospital quickly. An ambulance is already on it's way''Carl replied.

Jasmine sobbed harder and buried her face in Albert's arms. Carl looked on,jealously and pain coursing through him. He could have been the one holding her now,comforting her. How Claudia had messed it up for him;he was going to clear it up for sure but that's for later.

The Ambulance announced their arrival with the wail wail of their siren. Jasmine got in with her father while Fiona ,Albert and Carl agreed to meet her at the hospital. Tony was declared dead by the nurses and doctor that came with the ambulance.

Jasmine sat beside her father who laid unconscious but alive,looking at him tearfully.

''Why did this have to happen on a joyful day. Why?''Jasmine asked herself quietly,sniffing in.

Just then the door opened and Carl walked in with a girl.

Jasmine wiped her face with her palms standing up to face Carl with the intention of stopping him before he came closer.

''What are you doing here? Who invited you to the anniversary huh?''Jasmine asked.

''Jasmine ,that's not important now but if you insist,I am a business man Jasmine and since I am heading my father's company I was invited''Carl said.

''You know what? Just leave''Jasmine said.

''Jasmine-''Carl started.

"Leave!''Jasmine raised her voice.

''What's going on here?"Albert asked walking in and almost dropped the food he was holding when he saw Jessica.

What is she doing here? Oh God  please,do not let her spoil my cover,Albert prayed silently.

Jessica was as surprised as Albert was to see him standing there and thoughts and questions of her own rose in her head.

What connection does he have with Miss Blake?

Luckily for Albert,Carl was already leaving''Let's go Jessica''

Jessica followed Carl out but not after exchanging a questioning look with Albert.

"Whoo! We did it baby''Fiona screamed with joy as she,Jean-Clark and Jessica raised up their glass to cheer to tonight's success in Jean-Clark's apartment.

''Cherie de temps de celebration. Mission accomplie!''Jean-Clark shouted in french.

Claudia and Jessica are friends but Claudia doesn't know that Jessica is a gangster,but knows that she can do dirty jobs for her when needed. Claudia and Jessica has been friends since high school,lost contact and then regained it again. Claudia sipped her red wine silently and when the loud cheers from Jean-Clark and Fiona died down for a little,she asked''What did that young man ever do to you? From what I know now,he's your brother''

''Look Claudia don't spoil the moment''Fiona replied.

''You know,I really don't see how doing this is gonna get Carl for me''Claudia said angrily.

''Chill woman,just do as we say and everything will work out fine''Jean-Clark said.

Claudia breathed in''I don't even know what I'm doing here. Jessica let's go''

''Fine for me,;eave before you spoil my mood''Fiona said already pissed off.

Claudia took one long glance at Fiona and left,Jessica trailing behind her.

''I"m really worried for her man"Carl said running his hand through his hair.

"I know you are''Greg said.

''You know in my entire life of knowing and being with Jasmine,i've never seen her this shattered like tonight as she stood between her father and her brother and I felt useless''Carl said.

''This is tragic for a day like this,a day that is meant to be full of joy and happiness and the feeling of achievement,instead it turned out to be a day of sadness and tragedy''Greg said.

''I know I said I've given up on women or so I thought but when I saw Jasmine I knew I hadn't,I couldn't''Carl said.

''Who would do something like this to the Blake's and on this day?''Greg asked no one in particular.

''You know who i"m suspecting?''Carl asked.

"Who?"Greg looked at his friend intensely.

"That good for nothing Albert or rather Harry and I promise I'm going to get to the bottom of this''Carl replied darkly.
