Deep breath

Erin's hands were shaking uncontrollably as she walked up to Hank's front door. She turned around and saw Jay in the car, he gave her an encouraging smile and drove away. They had agreed that Erin would go alone, as Jay would probably be murdered by Voight if he was nearby, but had promised to pick her up later.

She climbed the two steps and stood there just looking at the door. She took a deep breath and knocked.

Voight opened the door and saw Erin on the porch. "Can I come in? I need to tell you something," she said.  "Yeah come on in, are you okay Erin, you don't look to good," Voight replied as Erin stepped inside and walked into the kitchen. "Yeah I'm fine, just a little tired," she answered. They both sat down at the table. "What was it that you wanted to tell me?" Voight asked curiously. "Can I tell you this as Hank and not my sergeant?" "What's on your mind, kiddo." He hadn't called her that in years, probably because she wasn't a kid anymore. "Okay.. But you have to promise not to murder the other person involved," she pleaded. "But what if...." He started. "Nope you have to promise," she interrupted. "Fine, I promise," he grumbled. "Okay. Here it goes... I'm pregnant."

"I must have heard you wrong, because I could have sworn I heard you say you were pregnant, could you repeat that again please," Voight chuckled. Erin swallowed. "I am pregnant." Voight's jaw dropped, "What? I don't understand?" "I am pregnant with Jay's baby," she admitted.  "ERIN LINDSAY, I thought I told you to break it off with him... Months ago," he fumed. "I did Hank, I broke it off that very day but it was too late by then..." she explained,  " I was already pregnant by then and I love him." "I love him," she repeated, "And we are also back together because I can't stand to not be with him. I'm telling you all this to try and get you to understand, I want you to be a part of my baby's life but I don't think you can do that if you have a problem with Jay."

"Does he make you happy?" he asked quietly. "Happier than I've ever been," she smiled. "Where is he now?" "He's outside, actually, waiting to give me a ride home," she replied suspiciously. "Well tell him to come in, I want to talk to him," Voight stood up. Erin got up too, "I'll get him now," she started to walk to the door. "Wait," Voight called. She turned around. "I'm really happy for you Erin. Congratulations!" He walked over and pulled her into a hug, "you will be a great mother," he whispered into her ear. I hope so she thought.
