It was Erin's first day working the front desk with Trudy. Three words to describe it ... Boring as hell.

She was out having lunch with Jay and was describing her day. "First off, nobody listens to me! Platt asked me to get the keys back off some newbie and he COMPLETELY IGNORED ME! Can you believe it?!" Erin shouted across the table.

"Babe, you don't need to shout, I'm right in front of you," Jay said and reached across the table to hold her hand, then he looked around the cafe, "and also people are staring."

Erin looked at Jay in outrage, "Are you telling me to be quiet and that you don't care about what my day was like?" Her voice was dangerously soft and Jay saw that he had made a huge mistake.

"No, no, no, of course not Erin, I love you. I just meant that I don't think the other people trying to have lunch here, want to know about your day," he answered. "Well, THEY DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN DO THEY," Erin burst out, "You know what, I'm shouting because I'm trying to express to you how my day went but CLEARLY you don't care about me or my day, so I'm LEAVING." She got up from the table and stormed out of the cafe. Then poked her head back in and called back, "And don't bother coming to my apartment later, you're not welcome." She left the cafe once again.

Jay had never been more confused in his life. He paid for lunch then jogged to the door and stopped, as most of the customers were staring at him, "Sorry about that," he apologised, "mood swings." He pointed after Erin and left. He was about to chase after her car that was pulling away, when he got a call from Voight calling him back to work, so instead of following Erin, he returned to the precinct and was sent to check out a building with Ruzek.

Erin didn't go straight back to work, she still had fifteen minutes of lunch left so she drove around for a bit, to try to calm herself down. When she returned, her temper was in check and she felt calm... Until she had to go 'fetch' Platt her coffee. She couldn't wait to be done with this and go back to intelligence, but a little part of her was glad of this job, as she and the baby were out of harm's way. She wanted to keep this baby safe no matter how bored she was getting Trudy her coffee and being ignored.

Jay respected Erin's wishes and decided to stay at his apartment tonight, just in case she hasn't forgiven him yet. A while later though, he heard a knock on the door. He opened it, and there was Erin looking...embarrassed? Jay couldn't help it and started to laugh. Erin went from embarrassed to furious in a split second, but then she realised it was quite funny, so she joined in.

When they finished laughing, Erin apologised, "I'm sorry for earlier, I don't know what happened, I was just so mad for no reason at all. Forgive me?" Jay pulled her into him and gave her a hug, "Of course, I'm just glad you're not mad anymore," he joked. "I love you," she whispered. "I love you too, now come in and tell me all about your crappy day." She laughed and shut the door.

This was a longer chapter than I usually write because I haven't updated in about two weeks! Sorry! Anyway hope you liked it.

Thanks for reading :)
