"Look Jay," Erin started, "we are partners and last night was just a one-time thing. Remember ? Voight doesn't allow romances in the unit, he would probably kill you." Jay thought about this for a minute "Wait how come I'm going to be the only one getting killed?" Jay asked. "Because I'm like his daughter, you really think he'd kill his own daughter, but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have a problem with killing you," she stated. "Okay I see your point now, it's just I had a really good time last night..." But Erin cut him off "Don't say anything more, we won't speak of this again. Promise?" "I promise," he agreed reluctantly.

Erin turned her focus back to the road, she hated being so mean to Jay but she had to make him think that she doesn't care about him like that .. because that wouldn't end well. As much as she was trying to convince Jay she didn't like him, mostly she was trying to convince herself...

For the rest of the shift, last night wasn't mentioned, Erin and Jay just went back to their usual friendly banter, it was great the way they could just get back to normal, that's what Erin thought anyway.

**************

Jay was sitting on the couch in his apartment drinking a beer. There was a game on the tv but he wasn't really watching it and didn't even have a clue who was playing. He was just staring into space and thinking about how hard today had been for him. To just act normal around Lindsay after last night?? He had been going out off his mind all day. "She obviously thought last night was a mistake," Jay thought to himself feeling upset as he thought the exact opposite. He picked up the phone and called Will asking him to come over.

Will arrived shortly and knocked on the door. Jay opened the door and waved his brother inside. Jay got Will a beer and another one for himself from the fridge. When they were both sitting on the couch Will asked, "What's up?" Jay hesitated but the whole thing with Erin just came tumbling out of his mouth.

Will listened intently and when Jay was finally finished he smirked, "I always knew you two would get together one day." Jay just put his head on his hands, "I don't know what to do Will."
"Look Jay if Erin doesn't want this than you can't really do anything about it. You've got to let it go. Now I got to get home, early shift in the morning," said Will as he stood up and clapped Jay on the back. Jay got up and walked Will to the door, "I guess your right, thanks bro," sighed Jay. "See ya later," called Will over his shoulder. Jay closed the door and walked back into the sitting room, he turned off the tv and then got into bed trying not to think about Erin.
