Jay woke up on the couch in his sitting room with no clothes on and Erin lying across him. He glanced up at the clock on the wall. "Shit" he muttered and shook Erin awake. Her eyes flew open. "What's wrong, what's wrong?" she asked worriedly. "We're an hour late for work," Jay replied as he got up and dashed into his room to get some clothes on. Erin put on her jeans from yesterday and ran down the hall to Jay's room. "Hey, I'm pretty sure I left a ...." Erin stopped as her jumper came flying towards her. "Thanks," she shouted as she ran back in to find her shoes. After ten minutes they were on the way to work in Erin's car.
"Okay, tell me the story again," she said to Jay for the tenth time. "Come on, don't make me say it again," he groaned. "I want to make sure everything is perfect," she replied. "Fine," Jay sighed, "I was on my way to work when my tyre burst, I was standing beside it for a while until you came along and gave me a lift." Erin parked the car and got out, "Perfect," she said as they walked into the 21st.
Platt looked over at them as they walked in, "Voight's not happy," she called as they buzzed up to the bullpen.
They walked in and everyone turned to look at them. As they strolled over to their desks, Ruzek looked at them with a huge grin on his face. "I knew it," he muttered to himself as he went back to talking to Olinsky. Erin and Jay had reached their desks and were just sitting down when Voight stormed out of his office and shouted, "LINDSAY, HALSTEAD, MY OFFICE NOW!"
****************
"Glad you decided to grace us with your presence," said Voight his voice dripping with sarcasm. Erin and Jay had come into his office and closed the door. They both stood awkwardly against the wall waiting for Voight to say something else. When it was clear he was waiting for an explanation, Jay spoke, "We're sorry Sergeant, this is my fault, I got a puncture in my wheel and I called Erin." He could see Voight trying to figure out if he was telling the truth. "Erin, is this true?" Voight turned to look at Erin. "Yes, Sergeant," she replied but averted her eyes at the last second. "ERIN LINDSAY I KNOW WHEN YOUR LYING TO ME!" he yelled. He lowered his voice then, so that it was dangerously soft, "You two know I don't tolerate in-house romances especially when they interfere with work." Erin gulped her mouth suddenly dry, "Yes, sergeant, but that's not what's going on here." "You two better end this thing before the end of shift, don't make me come looking for you," he warned, "Now get back to work."They both turned and all but sprinted out of Voight's office. What were they going to do ??
